I'm leaving PHNOM PENH, Cambodia.
This is a video entirely about vegetarian indian food, Warhammer, graffiti and clutchless motorscooters…
Sometimes one just needs to please oneself 🤣🤣
--
I left LELE behind in Pattaya and conducted much Visa renewal trip for 3 days and 2 nights to the capital of Cambodia, the city of Phnom Penh. I found a cheap hotel to stay at in the Phnom Penh tourist precinct, 500 meters from the RIVERSIDE, for only $16 a night.
I got absolutely RINSED by a Tuk Tux driver, learned my lesson and did my best to pick up some of the essential Khmer words. I struggled to learn the Cambodian Riel (cash) despite its rainbow selection of colors. I'm doing this trip to Phnom Penh on a budget so expect to see low cost everything.

Took me 18 days to really enjoy Cambodia after being in Thailand, Taiwan and Laos. Then it just clicked and now i love it. It is alot more raw than Thailand. Always people begging for money and generally, imo food is almost twice the price and half as good as Thailand. My Khmer gal, had her purse stolen off her shoulder by a motorbike thief, along with her phone and ID. Still there is alot to love about the people and their resiliency after the genocide 45yrs ago. Thailand has 71M people and is one of the wealthiest countries, Cambodia only has 17M people and is one of the poorest, but it is making headway. I also like the sound of Khmer more than Thai language. You should fly to Siem Reap next time. Lovely airport, which is in the midst of being replaced with a new Chinese built international one.

I was going to bring that up but knew you were there short time. Yes everywhere I went people said DO NOT put valuable anywhere that a snatcher can grab it and drive away while you’re in a tuk tuk or walking down the street. Apparently it’s the most common way tourists get robbed is a snatch and grab, especially on a tuk tuk

Obviously when you’re in a red light district, just like walking street in Pattaya, results will vary 😅 but I indeed had a wild night that time. The fight broke out because a chinese guy spat on a tuktuk driver. I was staying at a more classier hotel and it’s written in the hotel book, no phones outside of vehicles, carry no valuables… was also warned about the GoPro by staff when I went out. Your tuk tuk drivers knows best 😂 Obviously nothing happened to me, but after seeing that brawl it made me realize I had not seen a single cop before or after that event, day or night. Imo it’s a place you’d better have your wit’s about ya ;) Siem reap was very safe. I will give Phnom Penh another try, I will simply research a better area to stay 🙏🏼

Nice videos of Cambodia. I was there in 1997 a month before a politically motivated grenade attack and in Siem Reap - fabulous place! Not a single western chain hotel or restaurant. Most (almost all) transactions in USD, we had bought $100 USD in Riel on arrival just in case, but gave most of that away before we departed. It was NOT safe at night. In front of banks there were armed guards with automatic weapons! The best place to go in Phnom Penh was the Foreign Correspondents' Club. At the time it was on only one in the world you could go to without credentials - seems like it's still that way. IMHO mass tourism is ruining many world heritage sites, like this one (Siem Reap). If you haven't watch The Killing Fields yet I recommend it before you next trip there. Cheers - DS

I hope this finds you. I can leave an email😂 if you wanna flick me a quick hello. I can see that there would be an angle for some monetizing for sure but not like how you think of monetizing a video and seeing a trickle from KZbin. Given that it could also be a video on its own but more or less a two second clip of it included in all your videos given you do it everyday 😂anyways and you have neglected to show yourself doing it. Well you have but you didn’t say anything about it in any detail whatsoever haha 🤣. It’s something the company I work for has sandboxed in Thailand and is about to be rolled out across the world.
