Don’t blame you for leaving SU at all! Used to be a demonstrator for the very same reasons and always thought the quality very good. However, they have become very expensive and postage is ridiculous if you just want to stock up on accessories. More than anything though, SU just seem to be reinventing many of the old stamps and like me, people I talk to in the UK really don’t like the accompanying sentiments. Far too “ sugary” - we prefer plain and simple sentiments. Really don’t like the increase in Card Kits either. Have always loved your Scan n Cut tutorials so thank you so much for those!

Thank you, i will still be posting SNC videos i have several already scheduled as normal, but sometimes if i am test cutting or needing product to make a project, especially for my cutting files, i need to make samples so will still need product to use, or just even to make my general cards for family etc, but I know there are new products coming to the market all the time from here in the UK that are cheaper and just as good quality so im looking forward to seeing what i can find to use with my crafting and the SNC of course.

Hi Ashley…personally I think you’ve done the right thing. What I have bought from SU is good quality , but like you I’m not tempted by the majority of their designs etc. besides which there is so much choice out there at cheaper prices. I don’t think you will look back…just keep crafting and sewing. Much love and luck. 💐❣️

I think what you’re doing is wise. I left Stampin’ Up years ago myself. I felt like the demonstrator discounts/benefits were very low, especially for the price they charge for things. One year they discontinued every stamp set I had and I couldn’t afford to replace them with stamps I could demonstrate with so I stopped. I loved the quality of their products though and will still buy every so often. Best wishes to you going forward.

I'm a hobby demo and I completely get what you are saying. The last couple catalogs just haven't resonated with me. I joined mainly to get the ink pads, markers and paper at a discount. I will probably drop at some point once I get a good supply of paper in, I just can't afford the minimums and the stamps are way too expensive, even with the discount, plus there is not much I want. Thanks for sharing and good luck to you in the future!!
@applelover53 Жыл бұрын
Hi thank you I was luck that customers made my minimums all the time for me, but if the products don't inspire there has to come a time when you just have to walk away. There are companies out there that sell equally as good quality of card and stamps that are a lot cheaper.

Thank you so much for your candor! It's rare, because most of the ex demos tell you they left for other reasons than those mentioned by you. I resigned also because I was not able to find so many products to love any more and totally get you. I was a demo in germany for almost 5 years. In the beginning I loved very many items and their desings very much but over the years it became redundant, not much inventive. And the sample designs in the publications went uninspired flat to often ugly to me. Maybe that's because me and my creative drive evolved and I somewhat outgrew the SU product line. The major color change and some other business decisions (the postage increase and the waiting line installment for demos on ordering times when traffic was to be expected high) "was the straw that broke the camel's back".

I left SU 2 years ago and never looked back. They retire WAY too many products and the new catalogs just didn’t resonate. They are behind the times…so many wonderful products to choose from and competition allows you to promote other products. The demonstrators are the heartbeat of the business and they are far too restrictive. They charge far too much for shipping, too slow, out of stock constantly and honestly their customer service isn’t that great. I wish you crafty joy and freedom now! I’m very happy shopping at the competition- many pro new products- also designed to work together as well. I hope they change their ways for the demonstrators. I’m also considering the brother, dies are a fortune and I’d love to stop buying the dies. 😘

I have loved SU for years. Came close to joining the same year you did as there was more than usual that I wanted. Then 2020 hit and I realised I needed to use up all the product I had and quit buying. Then, like you began to find there was nothing I wanted or liked. Prices are high, along with the shipping. Certainly understand your decision. That being said, your title caught my eye and now I have learned you do scan n cut. Yeah! My husband purchased one for me for Christmas a few years ago. I used it a bit and now it just sits. I actually wanted it to save on the cost of the SU dies. Maybe your channel will motivate me to once again learn to create with it. I will check your videos out. Hello Ashley, I am so happy to hear your going to continue with the BSnC for I have one sitting on my counter and I am so afraid of it for I am a visual person and do not comprehend instructions well. I was like that in school when it came time for test, my mind would go complete blank. Lucky for me, I had a history teacher that had me to stay after the classroom emptied out, he started asking me questions, I answered and when he was done he said I knew you knew the answers, you seem to have a mental block when you read the questions. So from that day on, he would have me to do outlines of the chapters instead of having me to take test. I just wish my other teachers were as smart as he was and understood how some children have mental blocks. Sorry for the long verbiage! I just wanted to say, I still want to continue subscribing to you channel and so happy you will still be around. Blessings to you in your new chapter of life! ❤

Hi thank you, i was the same in school, just froze when in an exam kind of setting. Glad the videos help but don't be afraid of it. If it's a CM model and you cut through the mat, just tape it up on the back, if its a DX/SDX auto blade machine you cannot really do anything wrong. Just start with basic shapes from the machine and some card stock and cut, even if its a bunch of circles or squares in various sizes, if you are a paper crafter you will use them. If you work with fabric just look at your card stock shapes as practice for cutting fabric. Its the same with anything its repetition you will get more confident don't give up.

My printer is nothing special its a top load feed and its an HP Deskjet had it years I buy my ink refills through the HP monthly plan that i think costs me about £3.50, it just gives piece of mind when printing especially in colour, they send you the ink cartridges through the post automatically, as they can tell your usage through the online app. I used to have to pay about £25 plus every time i needed ink cartridges and im sure they have gone up even more now. I think the system is called something like instant ink but theres info on the printer box and a google search will bring info up for you.
