Look. As someone who was raised in a long standing protestant church, I was away for almost a decade because I thought to myself the church was not doing a good service regarding people. God is the same but we are not. It is not because some people in the past thought something in their context, their era and their society that we have absolutely to take that as eternal truth. With historical context, we know for a fact those people were wrong in a myriad of subjects(slavery, for example) and so we adapted our views away from them as we became more "enlightened" with time. Why can we do that for all subjects but gay marriage? Let the Spitir guide the church to fix the mistakes of the past. That's what It does. Ecclesia semper reformanda est. All of this to say that I came back to church, a church inside the Anglican Communion, precisely because I saw this. For some, it is the reason to leave. For me, it is the reason I joined.

I am not Anglican, but I admire and support Rev Dan and everybody who wants to go against woke establishment. For me, the fact that the Church of England is going this way (the same way our current Pope wants to lead the Catholic Church) is not a cause for rejoicing, or for shaming my Anglican brothers ("You bow to the Wokest Church ever") but it is a disaster.

I came to the realisation that you can't have a monarch or a pope as the head of the church, only Jesus Christ is the head of the Church. If you research church history, you will see The Orthodox Church is the original church and that Apostolic Succession only works it's way down through the generations of clergy of The Eastern Orthodox Church. Why? When Roman Catholic church departed from the Eastern Orthodox Church in 1054, it forfited the succession of the Holy Spirit, which was given to the Apostels at Pentecost whom subsequently gave the Holy Spirit to successive generations of clergy right down to this day. This is why I believe The Eastern Orthodox Church is alive, and all other schism churches are stuggling to follow authentic Christianity, or attract new church goers. Where is the continuation of the Holy Spirit, if the Roman Catholic church broke the succession of the Holy Spirit, and all other western denominations broke from the Roman Catholic Church? There is no continuity of Holy Spirit or Apostilic Succession from the Roman Catholic church onwards, from the 1054 schism.

It's painful for him, but nowhere near as painful as the suffering religions inflict on LGBT+ people. Where's the love, empathy and compassion. Sounds like sex-obsessed discrimination to a logical person. Then again, religions lose their moral authority once a person reads scripture objectively instead of twisting it and forming thousands of different factions.

Dear Rev Dan, I know exactly where you are! I spent 15 years as an Anglican priest in Canada with an evangelistic heart to reach people with the message of the Gospel. I am passionate about the love of Christ for his creatures, and to my dismay I witnessed the Canadian church slide down the slope of cultural conformity. I decided I could not stay and be faithfulto God. I resigned my allegiance to the Anglican bishops and was confirmed in the Catholic Church in the fall of 2019. I am in the process of being ordained as priest. God has called me to this place, where I never would have imagined I would be. Praised be to God for his wondrous mercy. I know first hand the rubbish that is in some Christian churches, there are many that say they are Christian but are not, Chuckels is one of them and his "real " first wife there another, they are two disgusting individuals at the top there, makes you wonder eh. But I know first hand again that there are decent folk in this Anglican church, but like my own church there are the not so good also. To me those two are a joke, millions upon millions he has and watches as his subjects and their children suffer from lack of food, housing, basic beds and basic essentials, he gives nothing in real terms but his name and spits the dummy out at a servant that put the wrong pen down on the desk that day, he is not stable nor is he in touch with reality. Dear Reverend Dan, my husband and I left the Episcopal Church here in the US in 2003. So horrid was the leadership. We never looked back, really. I have returned to the Roman Church, and my husband is non-denominational with Catholic leanings. We do miss the worship & hymnody of the Episcopal Church, but we could no longer tolerate the church's dissention into sin. Going forth, you and those you hold dear will be in my prayers. When they do read and STUDY the word of God, like I did, they leave and become protestants. I was baptized, went to a Catholic school, my aunt was a nun and my family goes back RC more than three centuries on both sides. But when you find the truth in the bible, you flee for your life and soul. The bible reads: STUDY to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15).

You should try looking into confessional Lutheranism. You might be surprised to find how similar it is to Catholicism and Anglicanism. I would suggest finding a high church, LCMS congregation near you.

I attended Mass ( Catholic ) whilst my family and I were on holidays. Afterwards whilst standing around talking to other members of the congregation, the priest approached us, after some time two young children came up and spoke to the priest saying " Dad, mum wants to know where you put the car keys" I looked at the children and then at the priest, obviously with a look of astonishment on my face. The priest burst out laughing and explained that he had been a Church of England priest and then converted to Catholicism. The Archbishop of the diocese had permitted him to continue as a priest ( shortened course at the seminary ). I have since heard of several other married priests who had converted to the Catholic faith. That said I really enjoy your program.

The Catholic Church also has married Byzantine rite priests, but those must marry prior to ordination. Then if they become widowers they are not permitted to remarry if they wish to continue as priests. Same way with the Greek and Eastern Orthodox churches, and the Coptics and the Armenians.

@@robo4599 I tried being a Catholic Benedictine monk after leaving the Episcopal Church [USA]. It needs to be appreciated that the culture of secrecy in the Roman Catholic Church is a totally different animal from Anglican earnestness and above-board dealing in that keeping mistresses is extremely widespread in Catholic circles where many clerics cohabit with their housekeepers and even teaching monks have girl friends and even take their girl friends on pilgrimages to the holy land and so forth. Where I was for 8 months the younger conformist monks would openly make fun of the older monks who’d been drafted into the order at the age of 14 for having girl friends. Whereas in the Anglican monastery where I lived for two months earlier any sexual irregularities were punished by immediate expulsion including one-third of the community in one case for homosexual activity. I also spent four months in a Catholic missionary order’s house of studies at St. Louis University [Jesuit] operated by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immmaculate, founded by St. Eugene de Mazenod. I didn’t notice anything unusual in the Oblates but wasn’t there very long. They told me I had to leave for the Christmas holidays so I informed them I was returning to the union hall to ship out once again as a merchant seaman and that they could forget about recruiting me as I was tired of being given the run-around and hanging out with their college students since I’d already earned my degree. The Catholic Church will undermine itself through sheer bureaucratic incompetence and excessive preoccupation with training and formation. Most Catholic monastics quit prior to life vows in 90% of all cases I’ve observed. They also will be reduced to having non-stipendiary part time priests eventually.

@@trinity9365 I stumbled across Jehovah’s Witnesses and became a member for 15 years. I eventually left the JW’s and lost my faith for 2 years. After God restored my faith, i attending a Baptist church, where I eventually served in a leadership role. Forward to today, I live in Tanzania (after leaving my home in London, England) worshiping with a missionary church entitled “God’s Tribe.”

Praying through statues etc doesn’t sit well with me personally. I’ve seen to many Catholics hold statues in awe, which I believe strongly is anti-biblical. No Catholic@@paulcarroll7054is dumb enough to pray through a statue we do pray through our Blessed Lady mother of Jesus and his Saints for them to intercede for us with Jesus to approach our heavenly Father on our behalf, there are people that use the excuse that we pray to statues to avoid being drawn toward Catholicism that's a fake excuse Paul, it reminds me of the saying there are none as blind as those who will not see, praying through Our Lady and the saints is probably taken by the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit as a true sign of our humility and that we seek their help, at the Wedding Feast in Cana some one approached Blessed Mary that they were running out of wine our Lady mentioned that to her son that was his 1st, miracle the rest is history, Deus benedicat Paul.

Greek Catholic isn't the same as Eastern orthadoxy. They have the byzantine liturgies and rites but they are still submissive to the see of Rome. If you study the Jewish roots of the faith you understand. From conception the “Church” was an OFFICIAL sect within Judaism. When you read Acts 1 and if you are familiar with Halakhah Law you will immediately notice that the Church is a legal entity WITHIN Judaism. There are 3 requirements which are met. Firstly, notice that there are 120 members in this synagogue. Why is this important? It is the exact number of persons in the Halakhah regulations to form a full fledged synagogue. Judaism and Catholicism were born on Shavuot/Pentecost. To this day the Catholic Conclave has a maximum limit of 120 electors to elect the Pope. Secondly next according to Halakhah regulations there must be a "beit din" (Hebrew court) formed. We see that there is a beit-din and it draws lots and Matthias a disciple is chosen to take over Judas bishopric (episkopen). The first example of Apostolic Succession. So two of the three requirements are met. The third requirement is that there must be a NASI (prince/temporal) and an AB (father/spiritual) appointed. Curiously Peter is filling both these positions in this beit din. Why? In 190 BC the Kohan Gadol (jewish high-priest) fell into apostasy and beit-din gadol (Hebrew court) cast a vote of no confidence splitting the Kohan Gadol into two offices the "NASI" and the "AB" within the Beit Din Gadol. Fast forward to Matt16, in this new Beit Din Gadol (70 disciples) Christ has placed His confidence in Peter (the first AB/father/pope meaning papa) by presenting him the Keys to the temple/governance bringing the two offices back into one high priesthood the way it originally was. The pope has both temporal and spiritual powers. Peter is the NASI prince of the apostles and the AB/pope (Pope meaning papa - meaning father) as you see even today the pope as Peters documented unbroken apostolic successor is both ‘nasi’ and the ‘ab’ in Catholicism. Rashi the Jewish sage writes a commentary on the priestly role of the steward/vizier of the Davidic Kingdoms who wore the Keys. The Keys are the keys of the Temple and Authority. When the Davidic kings were away the steward/vizier was in charge and he wore the keys the King gave him so the citizens knew who he was. The steward is given the sash/robes/keys to the temple because the role is also a priestly role. The keys were then passed onto a successor when that steward died/removed. (Isaiah 22 v15-25) The Apostles knew exactly what had occurred when Jesus gave Peter the keys. Jesus presents the keys to Peter (Pope/ab) and appoints him/his successors as His royal steward to care for HIs flock until His return. Jesus gave special gifts to all the Apostles but only Peter was given the keys. First book of Kings lists all the Kings and the royal steward/vizier is always listed next to the King because in the absence of the King he was in charge of the Kingdom. Christ also renames Peter (the only Apostle renamed) as Abraham and Jacob were renamed by God in preparation for their specific role in salvation history. Jesus, Son of David rebuilt the davidic kingdom as per 2SamCh7 - He is the King, His mother is Gebirah, Peter/successor Popes are His al-bayith aka royal stewards and the Hebrew court/beit-din is the Magisterium. Catholicism is not a new religion, it is the legitimate continuation of ancient Temple Judaism. Temple Judaism has very little to do with modern Rabbinic Judaism which rose around 170AD. Catholics do not throw out what God has revealed prior and continues to hold that all that is revealed is a single continuous revelation culminating in the Catholic Faith. Judaism and Catholicism is the same faith in two covenants one old and another new. Jesus created a Melchezidek priesthood which pre-exists the Aaronic priesthood. This is why all Catholic priests belong to the order of Melchizedek, the fulfilment of the theophany of Melchizedek giving wine/bread to Father Abraham.

Pachamama was clearly explained by Fr Dragani professor of religious studies on the Reason and Theology channel and there is no prayer to Pachamama. The faith center has 3 separate buildings about 20mtr apart, one is a mosque, one is a synagogue and one is a church. Jews of UAE are not worshipping in the Church and Catholics of UAE are not worshipping in the mosque. They are all worshipping in their own mosque or synagogue or church. In some countries mosques, churches and synagogues are virtually side by side, does that mean they worship together?

I came to the realisation that you can't have a monarch or a pope as the head of the church, only Jesus Christ is the head of the Church. If you research church history, you will see The Orthodox Church is the original church and that Apostolic Succession only works it's way down through the generations of clergy of The Eastern Orthodox Church. Why? When Roman Catholic church departed from the Eastern Orthodox Church in 1054, it forfited the succession of the Holy Spirit, which was given to the Apostels at Pentecost whom subsequently gave the Holy Spirit to successive generations of clergy right down to this day. This is why I believe The Eastern Orthodox Church is alive, and all other schism churches are stuggling to follow authentic Christianity, or attract new church goers. Where is the continuation of the Holy Spirit, if the Roman Catholic church broke the succession of the Holy Spirit, and all other western denominations broke from the Roman Catholic Church? There is no continuity of Holy Spirit or Apostilic Succession from the Roman Catholic church onwards, from the 1054 schism.

We were from a Diocese, Southern Qld, that bans pastors who have trained at Moore College, Ripley College or Sydney Missionary Bible College. They will not accept preachers who oreach substitutions atonement. The code of conduct was changed last year from faithfulness in marriage and celibacy in singleness to "responsibility in relationships". In practice, our rector was allowed to cheat on his wife and 6 kids as long as his lover was not within the congregation ( a power imbalance, you see - a definite no-no ). Our rector said he was once laughed at in Synod when he sat down for lunch and told the other clergy he trained at Moore College. At last Synod, the Bishop's speech was criticism of the Sydney bishop and how he wants everyone to accept comprehensiveness. Finally, in his speech, he said that the Bible was no longer morally prescriptive, because science, culture etc. Which then begs the question, if you are able to do what you like sexually, are you able to be a drunkard, liar, purveyor of porn, slanderer, gossip, etc? and still be employed by the Diocese. My rector felt he could no longer sit in deanery or synod with such as these, having sat for such a long time with LGBTQ activists, with it all now being openly accepted and legislated for in the code of conduct.

I've come through the same experience in the American Episcopal Church. I was in an old, prosperpous mixed theology church with evangelical leadership and broad church worship. My retirement spared me many of the most painful divisions. I now provide supply for mostly Lutheran churches in rural areas. Signs of the times: Religion in the west is becoming less predominant at best, getting finished at worst. And the top leaders of today aren't great either, perhaps the worst of all times. On Archbishop Desmond Tutu's days those threads weren't even thinkable to let alone a reality. Religion of said time was not equal to a battle between sex clubs!... Now this is what we have... And this is why I'm currently sitting at the last pew before the exit of my Roman Catholic Church, hoping that I don't need to get out one day. Church is not about sex clubs. Church is about a lovely Catechism on Human Salvation!... Get it my fellow Christian leaders, before it would be too late!... :) :) :)

In every generation, there are always people who refuse to see society's problems. A handful of churches were created by groups leaving the CofE during its history. It has happened in every generation and it will continue do be that way.

Brother, I salute you. I have left the full time ministry of the C of E over this issue, not of my own volition, but because raising it with my congregation caused such repercussions that I suffered a breakdown of my mental health. I was blessed with an excellent therapist who persuaded the Pensions Board to retire me, but I could not return.

I left the CofE back in 1993 (I'm a layperson) and joined the RC Church which I've never regretted (for several years I had a married ex-Anglican Priest as my Parish Priest). I hope you find a ministry that will use your gifts to the full. I'm sure you would be most welcome to join us Catholics, but if that's not your thing, I can only pray that you find a good evangelical ministry to spread Christ's holy gospel.

Had one issue in 2019 in Portsmouth with “weird”- Walked out. So less daily church. Spending a lot of time around Canterbury next trip and do not like what is there now. Also, all by transit so another issue with mobility.

Blame the supposed leaders , both Archbishops for not holding firm to the Gospel . This from someone who recognises himself as a sinner but does not expect the Gospel to be rewritten to accommodate me. The leaders are weak or have an agenda to change interpretation of the Bible for their own ends. Like politicians all outwardly virtuously signalling whilst being weak or hypocritical. If it's just a case of trying to please or include everyone, they now please no one and undermine the very foundations of the church. The Gospel is for everyone no matter what our sin is, if we truly repent As Jesus says - 'The truth will set you free'.

Catholic here. A similar exodus happened in the Church of England in 1992 when the CoE decided for women priests. Hundreds of Anglican priests and thousands of laypeople left for the Catholic Church. I am praying for you.

Rev. Dan, I'm a Transitional Deacon in the ACNA in the US. I do not envy you. Your situation is incredibly hard. You should know how amazing it is to have Bishops you can trust and whom you can wholeheartedly follow. That's why denominationalism is NOT the answer. It just shows up how divided we are. Jesus said a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. I pray God gives an answer to how we practice Christianity/be followers of Jesus without all these divisions and denominations. We are still supposed to meet together in groups as the early Church did and not go forming denominations. The Muslims are looking at this and having a laugh! Lord come build your church and let not the gates of hell prevail against it 🙏🏾

I find these times exciting. The Lord in His gracious long suffering is purifying His church the Bride ready for Jesus's return. These momentous decisions for our brethren over fundamental Biblical truths have been brewing for many years. Apostasy and heresies (within not only the Anglican communion but other denominations as well) have been growing for some time now. While we have much to thank the Lord for the faithfulness of many leaders within the Church of England and its history... there is much to be repented of over the last 200 years ? The Lord is reminding us clearly that the Gospel is about Him alone. Those whose faith is based on tradition or beautiful buildings ( which they are) are being given the gift to look afresh at the Lord Jesus and what really matters. I do feel for all those who are having to uproot, etc, but our eternal roots are not here but in Christ and our home is in Heaven. Let us love one another, brethren, live in the Word, and love the Lord our God with all our heart soul mind and strength.. let us rejoice in our trials.

Decades ago, when my uncle married a Catholic, they ended up pressured to leave NI to England because of that. I hope you are not in physical danger because of your conversion, and I can understand how converting from being protestant to being catholic would put you in a difficult situation, especially as being Protestant or Catholic here isn't just a religious matter, it's the group you were born into.

I'm studying Romans 1 at the moment. It is interesting that God's justified wrath is directly related to the 'handing over' of people to 'the desires of their hearts for impurity' that is described in peverted sexual desires .....men with men women with women. The focus of Pauls explanation of how serious it is that we deny and not worship our God results in wrath which is a judicial handing over...a guilty verdict against unrighteousness. The leaders who teach others this behaviour is actually God ordained will also be in terrible breach of His grave and beautiful sacrifice to bring us to God.

Note too that on Rom 1 God not only hands a society over to moral decay but to mental decay and disintegration. _They became futile in their thinking and their senseless hearts were darkened. It’s sad that Mr Welby has let it come to this.
