This was very sad and heart breaking. He did not want to let her go but Olivia keeps pushing him away. He looked so hurt when she said ok and after that she would not look at him while he was talking to her. I felt so bad for them. This is one of the best scenes they have together, so much emotion.

Scandal really is a lot about Verna's quote from this episode where she asks olivia "You try so hard to get that man to walk away from you. Have you ever stopped to consider how painful it's gonna be if you succeed, if he actually does walk away?". Olivia sees no future for the both of them but Fitz actually leaving and doing what she asked still breaks her. She spends the next episodes suffering and then he gets shot. Poor Liv, she cant catch a break.

Good storyline, and very good acting. Tony had his movie Diversion to Direct. It was a good way to shift the storyline. The scrips were out of the charts.

In regards to Fitz and Olivia, they do try to stay away from each other but there love for each other is like a tornado, once it ignites again it is almost unstoppable. I give them kudos for trying though.

I really don't know what she expects, like you've been harsh to him and "begging" him to let you go and when he can't take you being mean to him anymore he finally has enough courage from the heart break to let you go. But let's face it she didn't want him to let her go. She wanted to let him go. There's a complete difference.

Yep cause she's tried to let him go by leaving the white house but that door was always open. Him letting her go means he's walking away and that's a little tougher. He didn't ask for his ring back and didn't give her his flagpin back so it's not over

When she says that we are done or let me go she means he needs to stop with all the secrets. She wants him to earn her to fight for her. Plus she has abandonment issues and is afraid that Fritz will leave her, that’s why she pushes him away.

@@samiam8472 she pushes him away because she thinks it’s the right thing to do for his family and presidency. It’s one of many sacrifices she’s willing to make for him but staying away proved to be a real challenge for her because she kept finding herself in his arms over and over again.

Weird thing is she knew he was not only married and have kids, he was the President of the United States. He was making every effort to be with her and at every turn she pushed him away. He was the only one trying to make an impossible situation work. What do you mean there’s no future here? He has told you that he loved you and wanted to Mary you and still you made his life miserable by your continued rejection. Why cry foul when you won’t let him divorce his wife or give up the presidency for you? She rejected three weeks away with the married man she loves. Three weeks free from the wife and she said no. Well what the hell do you want? That’s what Fitz should’ve asked her before letting her go.

Olivia knew if he gave up the presidency somewhere in the future he would begin to regret it because of the relationship he had with his father. She was right in not wanting him to relinquish the presidency for him. Although in England a would be king abdicated the throne to marry an American divorcee.

This is the one time painful as it is, is the one time he really showed his love for her. Let her go, she has a life. Fritz go home work on your marriage with your wife. Olivia time is your friend, you have a life without the entanglement of being involved with a married man. Go home and mourn and cry, let time be your friend. You will heal. Too bad this didn't happen. So 😢 sad.

Olivia you have been mean to him, screaming at him, every time he calls you are rude and you told him to let you go and yet when he does you're surprised. Now you wanna cry cause your boyfriend broke up with you. No boo you can't play those kinds of games especially with a married man. He's willing to give up his presidency and his marriage for you but you're gonna act the way you were acting then it was no need for him to make those sacrifices. Alot of men don't fall in love with their mistresses but he did and I think Olivia took advantage of that thinking he will never let her go no matter how much she will fight or walk away. my only conclusion with Liv is that she wants Fitz to throw Mellie to the sharks...but do it because he's over Mellie...not because he's got an itch for Liv, as we see Fitz always hits the Mellie-default button At some point, Shonda will have to break this tradition with Fitz, because it's too predictable=boring=ff to something else=ratings decline=cancellation

The “you order whatever you want” ruined the scene. It makes it a bit petty. Otherwise it would’ve been extremely powerful using her own words against her. I did cry for Liv and Fitz. It shouldn’t have to be this difficult for two people who love each other to be together. Yes there are obstacles to overcome but the problem right now is only the ones created by Liv.
