A HUGE hello to everyone here! I am completely and utterly overwhelmed. I’ve been sat here crying and reading all of your lovely and kind comments. I genuinely didn’t expect this level of kindness and warmth at all. ALSO there’s over a 1,000 of you now, which completely blows my mind. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. I feel incredibly touched by all of you. 🥹✨🤎 P.S I’ll try and reply to comments as much as I can, but just know if I’ve hearted your comment, I’ve read it. ❤️ Thank you so much again.

I commented below😂 but I’m gonna say again, if you haven’t please read the a court of thorns and roses series. If you have audible, there’s even a dramatized version of it, if you’d rather listen and it’s so good. ❤

Popping in here to leave a comment and saying an amazing congrats to over 12k subbies! I got recommended your video this evening and I enjoyed it so much 🥰 I've recently gotten into reading again so your video was a wondering joy to watch. I too remember when Twilight was all the rage and I binged those book as well. Such great times. I've used "I" a lot so I'll go back to being a silent viewer 😁

I look forward to a more relaxed Booktube experience. Too many have made it into a competition, it seems. Who can read the most, who buys the newest book first, who has the most bookshelves, etc. I just like to read at my own pace and watch Booktube videos. Good luck with this channel.

Fellow reader with chronic health issues here 🙌 I have always wondered the same thing about booktubers - how the heck do they read so much so quickly?? Ahh hello! There’s so many of us, which is bittersweet! I’m exactly the same! I think 5 or 6 books is very good for me. I guess some people can read two books simultaneously, which I couldn’t do at all. My brain fog would never allow it 😂 Oh it’s a great escape for sure! Thanks for your kind comment and I’m sending you so many spoons 🥄💖

It's baffling!! There doesn't feel like there are enough hours in the day to consume THAT many books. I feel much less already just skimming through the comments here knowing it's not just me.❤

 Completely agree!! I guess a lot of people do this as their full time and fully abled etc, so may be able to read many books a week! But fair play to them, I just can’t do it at all! My brain would cry 😂😂 Oh I’m so glad, I think it’s really important to talk about loneliness, it’s much more common than we think.

I completely relate on the health front. I have a slew of rare diseases and my healthcare is my full time job. Booktube has been such a companion to me over the years. Your video and sound quality is really good, which is sometimes rare in new youtubers. I love the look of your space, the green colour of the walls etc. So... hi! I'm a 44 yr old autistic, queer, chronically ill and disabled white woman in Australia and my main passions are nature and literature (and my cats). My favourite genres are lit-fic and classics and nature writing. I've seen a few booktubers doing a "reading around the world challenge" where they're trying to read from every single country in the world, and I'm keen on doing that too. I'm not into tiktok either; I prefer content that is more immersive.
@NickellesNook

Ugh me too! I’m very new to the chronically ill/disabled club (about 2.5 years in now) and I was out of work for nearly two years because of it and bedridden for many months, but luckily I’m able to work part-time. Even that can be a struggle. Oh wow you’re all the way from Aus, that’s amazing! Thank you for all of your lovely, lovely comments! 🙈 That sounds like an amazing challenge, I’ll defo check it out. I honestly cannot stand TikTok, I tried it last year and it ruined my attention span. I also have sensory issues and I found it was way too stimulating for me. I much prefer KZbin, especially BookTube. It seems like a calming and positive space. ✨

@@NickellesNook Tiktok really started to erode my attention span too! It's also way too easy for me to get stuck in a doom scroll for like an hour at a time. At first, I completely uninstalled the app, but I've since downloaded it again but put an app timer on my phone so I only can use it max 20 mins a day. It's a tricky app, and definitely one that I think people should be conscious of how they're spending their time on.

Welcome! I'm going through a tough time, too. Lost both my parents 2 years apart. Had to move back to Virginia (after my sister and I being caregivers for my mom for two years). And now I'm facing a health scare that has me wrestling with fear and hoping that it's nothing serious (the waiting for answers makes things harder). I've not read anything in a couple of months but I'm hoping to get back into it eventually. So lovely to see a cozy BookTube video. @Safi-Dee
@Safi-Dee 10 ай бұрын
@@Yesica1993It's important that there is diverse representation and perspective wherever we go. A black booktuber is more likely to be able recommend books to others who not only have a similar experience but who want/need to learn more about the Black experience. It's not racist to acknowledge people of different races and ethnicities have different experiences - it's actually important in order to make sure we're creating a loving, understanding, compassionate world ❤ I know your comment came from a good place, but I'm pretty sure OP was just saying it's great to see more people who represent their experience ❤

So glad KZbin showed me your video! I think it’s amazing that anyone puts out content. I relate with chronic illness and the escape of reading. Thank you for sharing your cosy space!! Also, your scrunchie and blush combo are so beautiful on you, that is the most beautiful colour!! ❤

Love the nook! Finding time to read can be tricky, so I read physically mostly in the morning and listen to audiobooks during the day when I can which drastically increased my amount of reading. A brilliant black British Booktuber I would highly recommend is Olivia from Olivia’s Catastrophe - she is wonderful. Welcome to Booktube!

Well you're adorable! Subscribing immediately! Please don't put too much pressure on yourself - my favourite Booktuber always takes February off and we're all waiting for her when she returns 😊 the thing is with readers in general is that we're so starved of bookish friends we'll take any book videos we can get so just enjoy yourself and we'll enjoy you 💚💚💚

Awww thank you SO much! You’re so sweet. 🥰 Thank you, oh wow that’s a good idea! Taking a month off etc Yes you’re so right, it’s a wonderful community here of likeminded people. It’s so lonely to have people to talk about books with. ✨💖

Just watched, and I am so excited for this channel! I have health issues too and I've slowly been diving into non-fiction about chronic illness and disability (as well as the general experience of being a woman). Would love to see if you have any recommendations in future. I also mainly read contemp/lit fiction and am looking to diversify my reading, so I'll be happily hooked to this corner of the internet. Wishing you all the best! From Melissa, your new South African Bestie 🦄

Welcome! You are such a natural I would have never pegged you a newbie if it wasn't for the title. I love reading and I grew up reading starting at an early age. I am the youngest of 5 children the only girl so there was always books available. I started reading the mysteries...like Encyclopedia Brown series, then Hardy Boys and Trixie Belden, then of course the Judy Blume books I checked out at the school library. And when my mom noticed how much I enjoyed reading she took me to the public library and got me my first library card and that is when I went crazy seeing so many books. I spend quite a bit of time at the library check out books when I should really be reading the books I have in piles at home (because I keep buying them) it has become a never ending cycle...😄 I read all kinds of different books fantasy, ghost stories, some Stephen King and he ended my horror book reading because he scared me so bad....lol. I do enjoy fantasy books and right now I am on a cozy mystery kick, discovered the genre during the pandemic and have been hooked since. Thank you for sharing about yourself since I have probably more about myself than you really wanted to know 😄 I will be sure to subscribe to your channel. Looking forward to seeing more from you whenever and whatever you want to share. Again welcome!

Welcome to BookTube 🤍 You’re stunning! I agree, for me starting BookTube channel was to find people to talk about books with, so glad you’re someone new to chat with about books! 📖 No smelling books and the page texture are the best 😅 ugh I just love books ✨ I’ve never read Twilight and I just started The Hungers Games for the first time, just finished book 1 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You’re super sweet and I can’t wait to watch your content!

It's so amazing to see more disabled booktubers and booktubers with health issues because so many channels feel so inaccessible to me as a disabled person. I'm currently unable to read because of brain fog (I have POTS and hEDS amongst other things) so I'm filling my life with booktube instead of reading time.
@NickellesNook

Thank you! Completely agree! Oh yes, I was the same with my brain fog and just sensory overload if I tried to read, so I was listening to audio books instead. I can sympathise as I’ve had some symptoms of POTS at the beginning of my health issues. Oh well I hope you’re getting the enjoyment out of books by watching booktube! Thanks for being here! 🤎

First video of yours I stumbled upon, and just want to mention I kinda love the fact you’re so real in a way when it comes to not being able to read that many books a month. Feels like it’s the first “realistic” booktuber I’ve found, and I just love how I can relate to a booktuber in that sense now. Keep going, keep it fun and light, I’ll be watching ur vids ;))
