I think it's shown in another episode that traditional monsters can't be completely tamed; they can be controlled to a point, but it's possible for them to break free and go back to being rampaging beasts

@@CStars55 oh yeah, like the behemoth that rein stole from another beast tamer which would have been an awesome 5th beast for his party after the girls and it would have been rein’s first permanent contract that isn’t a girl, it’s a powerful beast bro and would help rein protect innocent people. This seriously feels like shield hero and honestly that’s a bad thing, the protagonist male seems so average in character and his voice is lame and the girl just doesn’t have that spark

I was thinking this is more akin to "Banished from the Heroes' Party", which literally has this exact setup, except it's only one of the guild members who enact's the MC's explosion without the other party member(including the Hero, who is MC's younger sister)'s idea or agreement(they even openly claim and respect that the MC is a major help and backbone to their party), and the MC himself opts to live as a drug store chemist(rather than become an adventurer) and live with a previously tsundere princess who loves him dearly, and there's no growing harem as well(aside from the slight brother complex the Hero has(due to stunted emotions from her Hero blessing)). Also Shield Hero is more darker in tone, and is an Isekai story, while both this and "Banished"'s MCs live in their fantasy worlds their whole lives, and meant to be more light hearted stories. I respect you not having interest in this, regardless, but I wouldn't call it accurate to compare this with Shield Hero in particular.
