That is going to be a beautiful dress. I love the bodice even without the lights.

Hi, note to self never ever get crazy fibre optic fabric. That being said you are doing fantastic with the whole dress and it's going to look amazing. 💖

I love how honest you were about how much of a struggle this fabric was to work with, also the way you said "theyre seperate pieces, theyre not attached" the delivery made me laugh so loud.

as someone who suffers from light sensitive migraines and knows people with epilepsy, thank you for trying to reduce the amount of flashing light on this project.I'm very happy that you managed to get a bodice done for this. i love the idea and your concepts, and for showing us the pitfalls you faced.

Not to the end of the video yet, but you're doing a great job so far! Just a note on the different dart sizes, the waistline isn't sitting at an even height all around, and this is what is making the darts so much smaller on your right side. Is your right shoulder muscle slightly bigger than your left by chance? If you are right handed that is often the case. So yeah, add maybe a quarter of an inch both front and back (so there is an extra 1/2" total) to the right shoulder for future projects, and your darts will sit more evenly.

This is turning out so beautifully!! It’s going to be amazing!! I do have to admit that I’m really glad that this wasn’t invented when my kids were young! I’m sure that their active imaginations would have thought up some epic things that they would want me to create!

We have similar body shapes so I love watching your stuff because I feel like you are so amazing at fit. It's genuinely impressive and gives me hope that if I work at fit enough, I can make things that are super flattering and beautiful

Looks like you might have used scrap fabric for the bodice mockup? Good idea to use a different color for each pattern piece - thus, no confusion about which part gets which alterations before cutting into the good fabric.
@LadyRebeccaFashions

Yep, it's scrap fabric, though the different colors were honestly unintentional!

You're doing a great job! I've enjoyed watching you figure it all out. One very random thing that popped into my mind, which you may or may not be helpful, is using black out curtain lining/material. When my son was born, I sewed my own curtains for his room using blackout curtain lining. It worked great. Literally no light comes through! The material I used was not even super thick & was very easy to use & sew with. If you need to darken any areas that have light where you don't want it, it might be a material worth trying.

Oh My Stars!! This gown is going to be amazing! I have seen your Instagram photos and I have a suggestion for your theatre group's the next production. Or something for next season. I won't say my suggestion now so as not to spoil the reveal for those that do not follow your IG, but I hope you can guess what it is. Of course that depends on whether or not the owners of the copyright have released it for a stage show. Because you would wow the audience with your appearance.

Re: the crooked bodice; I have no idea if this is anything related, but I've noticed on several videos that your regular posture has your left shoulder lower than your right. I don't know if that is because your right shoulder is tight or your left shoulder is dropped, and maybe it's always been that way, but I've watched your channel for a while and have only noticed it recently.

The human body is not symmetrical. One side is usually larger then the other, one higher than the other.

@janisi9262
@janisi9262 2 жыл бұрын
A slip. You want a slip instead of lining. As long as your darts shape the garment to your body, I say put them wherever you want! Symmetry would be the only consideration. I think, maybe, your back waist is a little too low? It looks like it's forcing a bubble to form at the upper back, but you already said you're going to adjust the side seams and maybe that'll take care of it.

Good to see you returning to this project. I recall you were quite frustrated when you were making the skirt portion. Considering how wide the skirt is and the fact that you tried the bodice on with one of your Victorian corsets, do you plan to wear this ball gown with your Victorian undergarments?
@LadyRebeccaFashions

With those battery packs included, this gown will have to be indoors-only - and pray that the automatic sprinkler system in the ballroom doesn't get triggered. (Water + electricity = ouch!)
