I reviewed the paper circle bowl kit on my channel back in 2020, during the pandemic lockdown. I used a process of putting glue on only one side of the circles and applying them to the bowl, then putting glue over them when I had all the circles on the bowl. I had trouble with the circles moving when I put on the glue while they were on the bowl, but I was able to counteract that by applying the glue in a dabbing motion to one circle at a time. I let the bowl dry for 24 hours and it worked just fine--you do NOT need to let it dry for 5 days. I also recommend having baby wipes handy when you do this kit so that you can wipe off your hands periodically. I enjoyed seeing somebody else do the kit and have a different experience than I had. Good video!

Reminds me of Threadbanger. They tried making all those crafts you see on the internet that look so great but don't actually work in real life. They attempted to make so many bowls lol. The most ridiculous was the sand bowl. Or maybe the button bowl. If that channel taught me anything, it's that diy bowls rarely ever work. They either fall apart or end up floppy and useless.

You know what you could do to make the thread bowls harder? You could dip the string in a mod podge type solution before you swirl it around on the mold and then that way when it dries hopefully it'll dry a little harder because the thread will have been soaked through with the mod podge.

The question about Craft Tastic and Craft Crush, but both being Play Monster, it’s probably similar to Michael’s and formerly Aaron Brothers, craft lines like Freestyle and Artist Loft. One is for kids and one is more adult friendly. Just an assumption, as the paper bowl kit looks more like it’s targeted to kids, and the thread bowl looks like an adult version of a similar craft.

@MackenzieNerdyEMT5 ай бұрын
Ive never heard of or thought of wallpaper glue, of course I understand why it exists but it's never crossed my mind! How would you recommend you do something like this? :)
@jackielubeck5 ай бұрын
@@MackenzieNerdyEMT Hi - the problem with the kits is the thick paper and the unknown glue. Wall paper paste is a very heavy paste that you can hand mix and it takes very little powder to water because you're not hanging wall paper. You should use thin paper like an old phone book if you can get on or tissue paper or napkins. You can either make a pulp by soaking the paper in water and molding it on a bowl or paper box or plastic box or else layer it by putting glue on the mold and not on the paper. Then layer it. All those cracks and open spaces can easily be flattened. Sometimes I put a tiny bit oil on the mold and the mold can be anything such as a mushroom box, aluminum tray, anything where you can cut or rip off the mold. If you make a pulp you can mold it and then layer paper over it. I made many many things this way.
