I'm picky with my pops trust me, but some people are out control complaining about conditions of really small damage. The cuphead wasn't to my standard, had at least 4 creases or dings. The dustin had one minor corner. No reason to worry about that. I would take the cuphead to the store, the others were fine and keep and should have ZERO value taken from them. It's a cardboard box everyone. It's not a baseball card or a comic book with delicate pages and corners. It is cardboard that is folded to make a box to protect the product. The PRODUCT is the value. Yes boxes in mint condition should be most valuable over crappy boxes, duh, but all the people who complain determine values for all those who just want to enjoy them even if they are box collectors. For example, I was LUCKY enough to be 1 of 3 at my local barnes to get an ultraman the other day. I had last choice and my box has the smalllllllest rip in the top corner. Like nothing. If I were to sell tomorrow, are you (blanket statement) trying to tell me that I would have to sell cheaper than the other ones? Get outta here. My point of all this, let's calm down on box conditions a smidgen eh?

@Winter Collectibles Yeah I mean it's not like it's just him (I think he's great and his channel btw), and even if reselling, tiny dings shouldn't matter. Cardboard boxes shouldn't be held to as high a standard as baseball cards/comics for example IMO. I do like my pops minty as everyone of course, keeping or reselling but yeah Idk. It's all good. I use the card system for my pops. 7/10 is near mint. 8/10 mint. 9/10 gem mint, 10/10 pristine. so I think ranking most great shape pops as "mint" is fair being that they come shipped from no matter where and or sit on shelves. an 8 is really good to me.

I'm an out of box (oob) collector so I don't reallyyy care about the box that much. If I have a selection to choose from of course I choose the best looking box. However, if I find a nice box with a pop that has a bad paint job, I get the one with the best paint job. The pop itself is my priority. I completely agree with you!

I take all my pops out of the box and if they have a tiny dent in the box who cares your right it isn’t going to decrease the value I’ve bought a very rare anime pop the only reason I was upset was because the box was crushed and a piece had broke off

Those pop protectors are neat! I’m surprised by that poor HT packing job. I recently ordered 9 pops to use my Hot Cash, and all were packed in sorter boxes. Never had issues with them in the past either.

As a current HT AM, with my experiences I know for a fact that through the hundreds of web orders I go through, I have NEVER ONCE seen a pop packaged this way. Hot topic very much so takes incredible pride in pop sales. If you worry that much I would tell you to have it shipped to your local store (it’s free) and have the employee inspect the condition on the products before they are given to you.(They are required to) I tell all of the frequent pop collectors in my area to do this especially since pops are final sale and it’s overall a safer bet.

I happen to be an OOB collector with my dolls and other toys(unless they are collector dolls with super detailed boxes), and I have dealt with the small dents in two out of three of my Funko Pop boxes and one of my RWBY Vinyl figure boxes. I planned on unboxing them, so it did not bother me a lot. Doll boxes are much lazier in current times with being unable to save the back card due to the plastic display window being glued to it. Yet in the end, I feel all non-collector/rare toys or figures disserve to be OOB. That better allows people to fully enjoy the attention to detail, unique sculpts, possibility, and the beautiful doll outfits and their material. And it's much more fun to photograph toys

What I dont understand is people care more about the boxes then the actual POP! I mean a somewhat mint box is always a plus but I've seen people pick a mint box with a crappy/sloppy paint job and or glue all over the character instead of getting a on point paint job. Crazy. Why don't people just see if they can buy an empty mint box with no POP from funko. and just collect empty boxes,Problem solved. Yea maybe the cuphead was a lil messed up. But the Dustin absolutely no reason to point out any issue with it. Its thin cardboard,thin plastic of course it's going to crease or bend. I think the quality of paint has went down on the paint jobs anyway because funko sees people care more about the boxes instead of the POP! Thanks box collectors for making them see that boxes trump paint quality.

It might not have been Hot Topic that damaged the box. The boxes could have been damaged when they were shipped from the actual Funko factory to the company just like when you find damaged boxes in the stores. With that being said, they could have used sorter boxes for the other two. If you want REALLY good condition shipping, order from BoxLunch. I’ve ordered figures from them multiple times and they ALWAYS come in sorter boxes. I also befriended someone that works there, and she said the people who ship out the figures actually make sure there are no defects on the box before they send them out. They are also cheaper there than at Hot Topic ($10.90 instead of $12.50). They get exclusives as well. The only downside is that they don’t get as large of a selection of figures as Hot Topic does, but there are still a ton to choose from!

Yeah it's almost always like that for me also. Hot Topic is my preferred place to order from. Very rarely has a pop came without a sorter box or is damaged. Boxlunch is usually pretty good too. I don't understand why all the other stores don't do sorter boxes? Don't they come from Funko that way?

Have them ship to store. I always have them ship to store and they always open the box in front of you and they're always in a sorter box and if they come damaged inside the sorter box they can either give you a refund or exchange as long as the pop is not sold out

I'm really surprised at the way they shipped your pops and the damage on the boxes, they're usually really good at shipping stuff. Out of all the times I've ordered from them, the pops have been in perfect mint condition. The employee who packaged them was just lazy and did a really lousy job. Besides, that's nothing compared to Wal-Mart and Barnes and Noble, I've ordered from them a couple times and most of the time they came in REALLY bad shape, I don't trust their shipping and have been staying away from ordering pops from them. Either way, great video and awesome pops!!

I would like to tell you that you are lucky than me. I bought pop from HT last year, they know is far away to my country from the address. But they just use 1 soft paper box to pack with the pop, my Jack skellington pop got Squash not just the outer box. It Squash the plastic inside, too. I asked them about this kind of damage, can I get little bit compensation, but HT said this is not include as damage of the outer box and plastic inside. Because the pop figure is still not damage. I won't never order pop from them too, even I order on ebay, amazon, etc., they are packed must well than HT.

I doubt the damage on those boxes came from shipping. They were packed tightly and it's unlikely dents like that would happen without the outer box showing damage as well. I think they were damaged like that from manufacturer and that's what Hot Topic picked to ship.

I'm gonna guess that Hot Topic doesn't control which Pops come in a sorter box. Sorter boxes have stickers on them saying what's inside, so I think they must arrive at the HT warehouse already in sorter boxes -- and others don't. I could be wrong, but considering the ones in sorter boxes are always perfect, that's my theory. I don't think a HT person's hands ever touch the ones in sorters. Your outer shipping box was in good shape, so what little damage you had to the corner didn't happen in transit. They were already like that before leaving the warehouse.

Hot Topic doesn't really take care of their pop funko boxes. I got a Wonder Woman in store and it had a dog hair in it...I let manager know and she's like oh you get a bonus. Also I got their last Glitter diamond Ursula and the corner of the box is torn. Sucks a place with exclusive products treat their products with less care.
