First tip, under your map globe in the top right, if you left click the wiki item then > left click on any examinable object in game, it'l pull up a wiki on that. (Also happens to be the fastest way to bring up the wiki without manually opening your browser). Second tip. I noticed you were a little overwhelmed with the wiki, that's okay you'll get it. The wiki is designed to be intuitive once you start getting it's 'flow' down. A good example is all the hyperlinks, every page on the wiki is populated with hyperlinks, so you can dig pretty deep to get context on pretty much everything in the game. Also, if you use the search bar in the wiki, you dont have no know exaxtly what you're looking for, as in you can paraphrase what you think you're looking for and it'l likely give you what you're looking for somewhere in the results.

Randomly got this recommended to me. Nice vid and welcome to OSRS! I guess best advice I can give is take everything at your own pace and enjoy the exploration aspect because Runescape is a huge sandbox of a game. No sense stressing about efficiency early into your first account. Also the OSRS wiki is extremely well documented and can help with some of the more uhh esoteric things in the game, especially in quests lol

One of the great things about this game is that most actions give xp, you can log in and there’s 1000 different things you can do that will permanently progress your account

@@GamesBoy420_69It’s actually super intuitive once you get familiar with the game’s vocabulary. Basically, the search bar in the top right is your best friend. Just type in any item or quest name you’re wondering about and it’ll give you a list of articles that name has been mentioned in on the site.

9:10 “is magic better at range?” Distance doesn’t matter unless you’re outside of casting range, but wearing full plate armor while casting does. You get a hefty negative toward your magic attack rolls when you’re wearing metal armor.

@@GamesBoy420_69 Np. Something to footnote though, people do use armor while casting to do what’s called splash leveling. Basically, you’re intentionally going for as low a bonus to your magic attack as possible to intentionally miss the damage roll. This lets you afk cast at a target until you run out of runes (because it probably won’t die if you’re constantly missing) to passively train magic while you do other things like eating irl lol.

The only advice i can give is to have fun! dont fall into the "max efficiency " mindset. we have such fond memories of this game because we were kids exploring a fantasy world and doing anything we felt like was fun. i remember training with a granite maul for melee and a dark bow for range. it was SO slow but i felt so badass using those weapons. those are fond memories. now days im worried about maximizing my accuracy and damage output and finding the right high hp low defense npcs to train on. it's not an adventure anymore.

Your runite gear is interfering with your magic casting. Mages have their own armor sets, and wearing armor meant for melee or range usually kills your ability to hit things with magic. You can use your equipment stats button to see that. Also, I think the quest helper plugin has "modes" that you can select. Not sure how to get to the menu for it though but it lets you choose how much handholding you want for a quest.

Nice, random recommendation I saw. Welcome to the game! As far as levels, I'd recommend gettin prayer to at least 43, you're gonna need that for a ton of content. Next I'd recommend tryin out slayer and training that when you can. It'll take you to many different places, its a good way to train your combat stats, and later on its a great way to make money. Oh and one more tip. If you are doing the achievement diaries, put every experience lamp into agility.

Use the “optimal quest guide” on the wiki and try to follow along with that. Do those quest in order and it’ll process your account nicely. Don’t be afraid to take a break from the quest and just explore and have fun. As I’m sure you’ve heard, the community can get a little stuck on being efficient. At the end of the day it’s a game after all
