I have some friends who are influencers and I tell them I don't want to be in their posts or tagged because I love my privacy currently I am seeing the effects of them having to always be online when they truly want to be to themselves. I think that a ton of influencers wouldn't be that self-conscious of what privacy really is, and the importance of having a real private place to share stuff with only the people they actually know. I congratulate you and support you in the decisions you make about your life as an influencer.

i literally removed a bunch of followers as well, mainly friend's friends that i dont really know well because i felt uncomfortable with them being able to see my stories and what i share and i only had like 600 so i cant imagine how it must be with over 15k D: im glad you were able to draw the line and yes, sometimes people forget or dont realize how valuable privacy is

I didn’t use Instagram for three years and the responses to not having Instagram were always slightly awkward. I still don’t like it and I pretty much install it and deleted every time I use it, so my use is exclusively practical. Ngl def still have to feel like the odd one out since people always give me the odd eye when I share that. Definitely doesn’t help to keep up with people I know or acquaintances, I just always a dreadful feeling logging in and sharing or following people who who barely have any interest in me as an individual.

I was struggling with social media (Instagram specifically) for years, I finally quit it all last year and honestly I never really regretted it. Every once in a while I feel this pull towards it, I use my friend's phone to scroll through some stuff sometimes but I always soon remember why I don't miss it, and get enough quite quickly. I guess the only really downside of it is a little bit of FOMO and occasional missed opportunities, but otherwise it's been the right decision for me. I totally recommend anyone just giving it a try, you may or may not find it's for you.
