I’ve waited AGES for this and AGES more and they nuke lawbringer’s flexibility. No chain, play style is fixated on verticals the easiest attack to dodge and his initial attacks are still stiff so it’s like we got these awkward moments where you feel really slow with old lawbringer moves and all of a sudden you get a fat burst of dopamine from the new move set that doesn’t last long. Screw the hyper armor he needed UNDODGE SIDE HEAVY ATTACKS on JUDGE. In their attempt to make him balanced they made him extremely fixated on a specific play style because that’s where all of his good attacks are I really dislike it. If I had a choice I’d just keep old lawbringer.

As a prior LB main (Now Cent. main), I feel that my boy just got a short end of a stick, and Ubi, being Ubi couldn't figure out what would work with his kit to make him more viable. FirstlyLB has no neutral pressure and has to rely heavily on the forward or side bashes. I think if they gave LB Shove on block again it would greatly benefit him. The bash chain feels slow and clunky. The options on heavy parries are super limited now, and without the stun tap, it can be pretty easy to read what you'll either follow up with or start a combo chain with. Yes, he has hyper armor now, meaning that we can commit to heavies more (much needed), the guarenteed light in the same direction could definitely use an increase in damage. I mean, look at ocelot doesdude does like 10+ damage on his unblockable light bash, LB's light does 1-5 damage. Even Afeera and Medjay will out damage or maneuver LB with most trades. The rework is not horrendus, but it sure is not justice for LB mains who've been asking for a viable rework for years.

Not sure if Pirate has been buffed but, from the very first dodge heavy that they did, I thought it looked a bit faster. Maybe by 100ms I'm guessing?

This rework is absolutely unfair and a disaster. We have almost every Samurai character that out classes lawbringer 150%. I've been a lawbringer main for the past five years, a rep 70 for a while, and I'm very tempted to uninstall the game. Ubisoft seems to favor Samurai and assassin characters. This game is turned into a pile of dog diarrhea

Pirate was buffed yes, and as the patch notes state, - Heavy Finishers now deal 24 damage (up from 22 damage) - Guaranteed Pistol Blast now recovers 100ms earlier and pins for an extra 33ms - Non-guaranteed Pistol Blast now recovers 33ms faster - Cavalier Dance changes - Attack is now 700ms (down from 800ms) - Uninterruptible Stance now starts at 433ms (down from 500ms) - Grand Cavalier is now 533ms (down from 600ms)

The game as a whole feels terrible compared to how it used to. The whole "read opponents" thing isn't my favorite. Especially with the faster warriors. LB feels really slow without any real threat. I went and switched to a warmonger and fought an LB and he wasn't even hard. Maybe it's just me but I'm not digging the game anymore.

He doesn't tho. He had the same combos as before, he just gets light on opener heavies now. So he essentially plays the same. No neutral game but he's good when he gets combo's going, but that was how he played before, if you played lawbringer before and after functionally nothing has reallt changed. And ontop of that they took out 2 of his most satisfying moves. Like he's smoother but all they did was smoothen what he was already good at and leave him unchanged where he actually needed it.

I’ve mentioned this before, it’s not the sbmm. It’s the playerbase, in NA servers right now there’s only I’m about 10 people I can think of that can react like I can, and most aren’t online at the same time. Just the unfortunate reality of this game’s community size :(

Orochi is a counter-attacker and doesn't have as many problems from neutral as LB has, the same goes for Kyoshin and Blackprior and for the Pirate. Just cause he is a counter-attacker it doesn't mean that his neutral game must be trash.

It is odd LB didn't get to keep double light chains. And his neutral heavy dmg is little bit on the low side. Should imo be bumped upto 22 so he can get the light tap for extra dmg or immediately go for hyper heavy (more of 4v4 thing) He also needs a dodge light, even one with minimal i frames

All we do now is give a character dodge attacks. Jorm never needed a dodge attack(I’m a jorm player) and he also never needed all the stupid buffs he got. Tell ubi to stop shitbraining their reworks.

@@limonguy3335 with Ubi constantly adding more and more bashes that can only be punished with a dodge attack (mainly dodge light/heavy) it became needed, before when you used to get a GB from whiffed bash, you didnt need a dodge attack on every hero because that was the punish but Ubi didnt seem to like that. So now we have added a lot of bashes you cant GB. Dodge bash on most dodge bash heroes shows how much it falls behind when you face certain characters like Tiandi, Ocelotl or HL in the future when you start to see HL a lot more

Pirate got a buff where her dodge forward heavy is 100ms faster, it has hyper armor slightly earlier now, they messed around with her gun shots (confirmed and unconfirmed) frame data, they increased her finisher heavy damage to 24, and they sped her dodge attack up back to what it was before her nerfs

i absolutely hate what they did to hl. dodge grab beats light chains so u no longer have to think between kick and light punish. theyre lowering the damage even further. they made his wavedash far slower...and unneccesary as you can punish chainlights with dodgegrab. honestly if they bring him live like this im uninstall. highlander and lawbringer belonged to my favourites and they ruined both. but hl rework is what will make me leave ig. they addressed important points like backstep light especially unlock into backstep light has been nerfed wich is good. but you can feel that the rework was done by someone who has no clue what it means to play or even main highlander

Like others have mentioned he still doesnt have any openers or roll catchers but I think LB mains in general are awfully overreacting to the changes. We are just allergic to any kit modifications. The changes that WERE made are generally good for the game, especially the stun removal (I mean I miss it still but yea). The other issues can be tuned in time. The finisher soft feint especially is doing wonders in mixups given how often you can access them. Give it time, we'll adapt and ubi will fine tune the kinks.

@El_Malanga02 There is quite a lot of it, but the key parts are: 1. Removal of all stamina drain/pause+stun from almost all attacks 2. Impale isnt guaranteed on a heavy parry anymore 3. You can now infinitely chain your heavy finishers with shove and light comboes. This works especially well with top heavy finisher soft feint into gb. 4. Second heavy in any chain has hyper armor now 5. You can light after shove, and both shove and long arm now chain (I think) 6. You have a confirmed light combo after a side heavy dealing extra 4 dmg. 7. His damage got toned down slightly (4-6 damage on heavies I think, compensated by the light combo. This was due to insane oos and parry punishes, though they are still quite strong (and one is bugged at 38 guaranteed I think) 8. You can now use Swift justice as a 2nd attack in a chain to quickly access the Orange. 9. Shove has a 100ms faster guard recovery so it's not as risky to use. All in all you get much more mix up flexibility and insane chain pressure. Sucks when you get forced into neutral, but a parry can get you back into the offensive fast. This was done off memory so I might be wrong, or I forgot some parts but it should be p close.

@@GreviousStudios sounds kinda like ocelotl in neutral. I don’t play lb so I wasn’t sure what they did since I didn’t keep up with the tg for him. Honestly it just seems like they should just make longarm feintable from neutral and accessible in chain without the ability to feint. It gives him a very good opener in a feintable bash but I feel like if they put it in his chain and make it feintable he’ll just be another infinite chain feintable bash hero. Idk I’m just throwing out ideas.
