I am a lot like you except that I am 70 y/o and am traveling part time for several months a year now. Finally! Waited on this time many years. I start out just driving with very few plans and where I end up is where I end up. I don't necessarily do all these great things everyone else does, but I am happy being by myself and doing whatever comes my way. And on a rainy day that can also mean not doing a thing but laying in bed, just listening to the rain! I am me, so I do me! This does not mean that I don't like people, but I do not have to have someone around me all the time. I really like your videos! They give a great perspective of your life. Keep on doing you and keep the videos coming ! ❤😊

Many people enjoy rainy days. If you’re a van lifer, isn’t the freedom to do whatever you want, active or chill, the main motivation to begin with? I can see you’re different, that’s quite a van, plus you have two cool dogs. Those out on their own with no pets might tend to be more active because of the loneness? I’m guessing. You did make a very nice video. Best~🙏🏻

Have you seen Emi, aka the cat lady van? She has plenty of days where she just hangs out in the van with her cat. She is so chilled out and just lovely to watch, I love that she is totally content to do very little. Every day doesn’t have to be spectacular. I agree with you. Being spectacular all the time sounds exhausting to me! Here’s to rainy days with books.

You weren't created to be sedentary, you were created for a purpose and I don't think your purpose is to wander life aimlessly in "adventures" ... Maybe you're different because they live life for selfish reasons of doing nothing that really changes the world... and your real purpose is to do greater things and not driving around alone doing nothing without purpose. You're young so don't waste a minute or year by doing nothing, lollygagging around the country aimlessly seems sedentary and boring when you only have 1 life...find a bigger adventure where you make a difference in the world

I think you figured it out and explained it beautifully. You’re also real and living in the moment which is what we’re supposed to be doing. And some people are more able to be happy with time on their own to think and chill. Perhaps the constant running from place to place is a distraction so they don’t have to be with themselves. I can definitely relate to enjoying rainy days when the pressure is off to go out and do things. It’s permission to stay home, cuddle my dog, cook, knit, read , listen to music and watch podcasts guilt free! I think what you’re doing is courageous and adventurous and you get to live in such beautiful parts of the country. Keep doing your thing, it’s refreshing! ❤

My first time seeing your channel, I subbed. I have to say... vanlifers are all different. It’s not like they’re all homogeneous and you’re the outlier. It’s true that many you tubers in general, are very focused on the entertainment factor of their content. They are very energetic in their presentation, add a lot of action and quick edits to their production, and add in a bunch of tangential interludes. But some are also very mellow, such as yourself. And you seem very down to earth and genuine. There must be other vanlifers who also work at another job and so live a more chill lifestyle in between. You’re a wonderful dog mom, and you’re worth watching for all those reasons.

Wow you like your coffee strong! I use about 1 scoop to your 3, lol. Being retired gives me a little more freedom to put effort into my videos, and yet I still feel like I kinda suck at it. It's a work in progress. Any amazing adventures I go on are more stumbled upon rather than planned out as "content" for my channel. To be sure, I don't expressly live to be a social media star. Should that happen, well then I guess I'll deal with that then, but I'm not holding my breath. You're doing you, and I think that was the best conclusion you could come to. I enjoy it when people around me are happy and will put some effort into helping to get them there, but I need to take care of myself so that I can take care of others. So I'm doing me. We're both happy doing what we're doing which is the cool part. Made it to NH yesterday. The colors are really amping up around here. It's going to be a great week. I know yours will be too.

First time viewing. If your doing what you want and enjoying yourself who cares what the others are doing. I sold my promaster a couple of years ago and couldn't be happier. I am getting the road itch a little and may get a truck camper and do a few trips here and there but I 'M DOING WHAT I WANT LIKE YOU ARE. Be your own person and enjoy and if that means not many video postings so be it. The others that are posting every other day are becoming slaves to the camera, KZbin, their followers, etc. You are opting for a slower more meaningful pace. You are smelling the roses. Enjoy!

While there is a formula to getting clicks, likes, comments, and patreons, the quickest way to spoil your amazing lifestyle is to turn it into a job. Since you already have the employment covered, you are free (FREE isn't understated!!!!) to go about van life exactly as you see fit. Not a bad way to do it. And how great is it to sit inside the van or in my case, a weekend trip travel trailer, and listen to the rain and thunder while warm and cozy?

New to your channel and I really like your style so far. I have watched tons of other full time van lifers here on youtube. I think they have many more subscribers which means more time to keep them engaged and subscribed. I think what starts as a way to live an alternative lifestyle turns into a daily grind. I for one am glad to have found your refreshing videos to what feels like a plea to help those continue to live the life everyone else wants to live, which means spend more money on them. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind that my watching videos that helps support someone, but I don't like it being the theme when some complain about how "tough" being a youtuber is and the costs associated. thank you, i needed to hear this. except for the 9-5 (i’m retired after 40 years on corporate IT) my life sounds a lot like yours and i constantly worry i’m lazy. i go but i’m not go-go, if you know what i mean. i don’t hike or bike or do tons of adventurous activities. and unless i’m on a road trip with an itinerary and timetable, i love staying the full 14 days i’m allotted at most boondocking spots. i think maybe there are a lot of us “slow-burners” out there but we just don’t create video content. i create static text & still image content that i post on facebook so family and friends know where i am, but i’m not interested in posting for an audience of strangers…not that i think there is anything wrong with that. i’m an introvert who doesn’t need to be seen. so rest assured, you are not alone in your love of rainy days and just hanging out. i for one am really happy with my van-dwelling life. i think happier than i’ve ever been. i wonder how many of the go-gos can truly say that.

Honestly, I don’t know how much longer I want to keep posting for an audience. The more my channel grows, the more rude comments I see. There is a fine difference between feedback and someone being flat out mean. I never want this to be my job so I question how much I want to subject myself to things like that. Mean people suck 🙂 but yes, totally with you. I adventure when I feel like I have the energy for it and I’m totally fine with that!

And this is why people that do van life, usually in couples, don’t like to be stuck in the van together. It’s just too small of space to be with somebody 24 hours a day so they focus on using it as somewhere to eat and sleep while they go about their adventures.

Thanks for sharing. When I fantasize going van life, I do not think of visiting lots of places all over the world. I feel I have traveled enough and like the idea of van life as something cozier, simple, and low overhead. Blessings on your journey and happy that you are not afraid to be yourself.

I am working fulltime m - f, 06.30-15.30, "jumping" out of bed 03.50 every morning. I am also a fulltime living in my campervan. After work and at weekends I go inside my home on wheels And just RELAX. I live in South of Sweden.. at least for This coming winther... The best part of vanlife is that You deside Your Own Way in Life 🌺

You are much more introspective. This is highlighted by your music choice. It's great because it presents van life in a much more nature focused & narrative style. I love your style. It forces me to ponder on the beauty of nature, versus the endless outdoor activities. Keep up the great work

Great video, I love a rainy day or night in a tent especially if I have a tarp overhead that amplifies the sound of the rain drops. 🌧 You're living your life not a van life your life. I stumbled on your video by accident and if your others are like this I'm definitely going to enjoy watching them so I subscribed. I recently retired and my channel is more for me than anyone it's a way for me to just get out and relax in the woods I've had friends say they appreciate my videos because the are no longer able to get out in the woods just to enjoy a day out and if I help one person one day then it's all worth while. I doubt I'll ever make a cent here lol. Sounds like you have your priorities straight , keep doing what you're doing for you.

When I had a van I installed a hammock inside of it and those stormy days were very much welcomed. I didn't move around much neither. It took me 6 months to drive from Oregon to Minnesota last year. You keep doing what you love.

We have so much in common. I am not productive like other van lifers either. I’m not like the other KZbinrs…. I live full time in my 94 Ford E-150 and I also film KZbin. I work part time at different jobs in the different states I stop at. I love cold, I love rainy days and I love staying in bed all day sometimes reading haha ❤

Do not measure your own life against the highly edited videos of other people!! Be yourself and don’t worry about what everyone else is doing or thinking or saying! You probably got into van life because you were listening to others, that frankly, we’re as unknowledgeable as you at the time.. do your best and that’s all.. no regrets.. one day at a time..don’t let self doubt prevent you from doing what you need to do..believe in yourself first, and know that the only constant in life is change! So if you are troubled, hang in there, things will change..you’re a beautiful woman, just keep on putting one foot in front of the other.. keep the faith baby! 😊❤❤❤

Makes.perfect sense to me. First time watching your channel. It was like watching myself except I do it in a house ....that I am constantly trying to keep up...and I leave to go to work 9 to5. I dream of doing it instead from the comfort of Vanlife....no big house to keep up...in-between leaving 40 to 50plus hours a week. Just cozy comfort and all needs met in one space thats all me. I have a husband and now 18 yr old son...but I picture this life with my dog all the time. Helps me fall asleep at night and rest my brain. Living simply. I've brought it up to my husband...he's more than welcome to be included..lol...but he thinks I'm nuts. Well...I'm not..just tired...want simpler. Rather NEED simpler. My job can be remote with another company. Idk. All he wants to do is travel..so it would be perfect. I think. My son knows I watch these vanlife vids...he's more than welcome too...but he is getting more and more independent and doing his own thing. Your video is exactly what i dream about doing...I guess a girl can dream. Simpler lifestyle and less STUFF.

You want to be different? Come to Mexico where we’re camped around Poles, Canadians,Germans, Belgians, French and just one American couple. Where are all the American van lifers? Who cares…I guess we are different too right? Keep on living and enjoying whatever you like.

It's funny. I have lived FT in an RV, and now a box truck I just converted, for coming on 5 years, and I'm amazed when people think my life should always be one big on-the-go adventure. I'm not camping, I'm living in my truck. Sometimes I get to go adventuring, as I call it, but often, life isn't much different than in a sticks and bricks...I just take up less space. I quite enjoyed your video, and wherever you were, it looks like heaven to me. Thanks for sharing.

Funny, I’m camped right now in this exact same spot outside of Buffalo. Same horses came and saw me. If I were here on a rainy day I would hit the town’s very nice public library, get a day pass at the YMCA indoor pool or gym (hot shower!), and enjoy the brewery. Get groceries, do laundry. Read a good book, keep researching ideas for the journey, and finding the next campsite. There’s probably some other inexpensive things to do here too. I definitely recommend separating work from “home”…public libraries are great places to work online with free Wi-Fi, they are heated (or AC), you’re around other people and pick up on local flavor (being a proverbial fly on the wall).

I think you do vanlife, much like I would do vanlife. Find a place to chill and spend time with my dogs. Sure, I’d visit popular places of beauty. But it wouldn’t be the usual weekly routine. And I bet editing and posting KZbin videos is work. I follow one KZbinr that I’m sure it’s their full time job. Every week is a new adventure. The need to create new content every week to keep your views up has to wear on a person. But they do have paid staff to help edit videos and post to their social media. And finally (Yes, I can have thoughts.), I can’t see myself ever moving to Europe. Why? It’s the lack of Mexican food. If you make it to Portland OR, go to The Doghouse food cart on Division. They have the best breakfast burrito called the Cheezilla. Your arteries will give you side eye. But your tastebuds will be dancing.

Honestly, I don't think there's any "right" way to Vanlife. We're all individuals and we all have our own approach to our lives. I haven't become a vanlifer yet, but that day is growing closer and closer, and to be honest, I'm looking forward to it. Not for the "adventure" or constant hikes and travels but moreso for the independence and getting out from under an oppressive rent/work/utilities/rent/work/utilities cycle. Rents are only increasing all across the US, and inflation (or as I see it - Corporate price gouging) is rampant and not letting up. Worker wages have NOT kept up with the ever-increasing cost of just existing. I can't call it "living" when I just feel so trapped. I'm in my late 50's, I still work a full-time/40+hrs a week job, but I work remotely so what's holding me back? Other than the fact that my adult son (34) lives with me, as long as I can get him back on his feet and self-supportive, I'm outta here. I just want my own little space, the ability to pick up and move wherever and whenever that urge strikes. My soul is a wanderer, being tied or tethered to one place makes me depressed. I need change, between wide open spaces and bustling cities I love them both but can only take them in small doses. Vanlife has been becoming more and more appealing to me simply because I hate being stuck. I can't say I love my job, heck, some days I don't really like my job but it pays the bills and allows me to keep a roof over my head, for now. Looming threats of increases in rent scares me. I've come up with a Vanlife budget and I know a loan for a converted van or small RV is doable and still less than paying rent. I know this post is kinda long but I just wanted to reach out to let you know, that you're not alone, or you are and THAT'S OK! Do what's best for you, your dogs and your soul. There's no right way or wrong way to Vanlife.

Hi from Malaysia, Girl Land! Sorry, I've just discovered your YT channel and I don't know your name yet. I like your concept of living a vanlife because I'm also a homely person (homebody in American English); I like to stay at home in the weekends after a long tired 5 days commuting to work. I will start following your videos from now onwards. Cheers!

What do you do for work other than YT to fund your travels? I would need a vehicle larger than a van, but smaller than a bus. I am in the planning stage of building my own 4x4 expedition truck with a living space of 18' X 8.2' on a medium duty 4WD truck chassis. I love the outdoors and I am pretty much done with people, so living out in nature with my Vizsla sounds pretty grand.

You have a very laid back channel. Why be like everyone else? Do your own thing! New sub. Where do you get your music? We have a channel but have not posted any videos yet (we have hundreds of hours of travel content). We recently completed an almost 13,000 mile road trip over 2 months from FL to WA state, and back, through 24 states and scores of national and state parks (and some boondocking locations) pulling a 20 ft. travel trailer with a minivan. We are learning from channels like yours. Safe travels!

Wow!!! Congratulations on your breakout video. You were averaging 1.5K views the last few videos posted and are presently at 25K views in eight days as of this comment. I'm really curious. What do you think you did different with this video to get the Algo to put it out in front of so many eyes? You popped up in my recommends that come after a video finishes. I am a chronic KZbin consumer with a premium membership who has a video streaming pretty much every waking moment even if its just audio while I'm driving or working. I'm not subbed to any Van Life Channels but I will watch a few in groups every month or so. Your production quality is fantastic. I will give you a sub and check out some more of your content!

I avoid pork, but those burrito guts look delish 4:10. My wife and I are 55 and have always worked well over 40hrs a week. But the work paid off and we recently retired. We also purchased a used pop up slide in, can’t wait to get on the road. What’s funny is, back in 1990 we had a 68 kombi vw. We headed off for three months after gad. university. Too many short vacations and camping trip later, it’s almost time to get back out there. Thank you for the inspiration.

In NYC...every Bodega (corner store) has some sort of breakfast sandwich, each one different and amazing in their own right. When I was traveling to NYC for work, it was easily my favorite meal of the day as I would stay in different parts of the city just to eat different breakfast sammies every day.....lol.

Restless, searching for the meaning of life, your anchor point? Exhausted after spending some time among people? Looking for peace, which you can only find in nature? Thousand thoughts and ideas at the same time, which drive you around? Still haven't found a profession that really satisfies you? Sympathizing when you hear a sad story from a stranger? Thinking you will never find a person who really understands and takes you as you are? Is your star sign by chance Aquarius? Just a question from a freedom-seeking foreign traveler who described himself 😉

I don't think there is anything wrong with just sitting in one place and experiencing peace. I like doing that same as you. Society says we're supposed to always be running around "doing something constructive". I disagree. We aren't designed that way. We evolved to stay safe, eat and reproduce. Everything else we do in this modern tech-world just causes anxiety, stress, and causes us to spend money. I can park my truck camper off-grid in the middle of a grassy field and be happy. Enjoy!

Speaking of "going to bed at an embarrassingly early hour," I often go to sleep earlier than ever before in my life, and get up earlier. This morning I got up at 2:22 a.m. My record was 9:30 p.m. - I took a nap after lunch, and somehow slept right through to 9:30. So I said, that's enough sleep and started my day. I love starting with a warm cup of yerba mate. It just works better than coffee for me. 9:30 "was" my record because I broke it and began one day while it was still light, last summer at around 8:20.
