I guess their personality plays a part in it too. I got my late cat (about 1 yo) and she was a feral. So skittish with people but really loves water. I would put her in a bucket of warm water up to her shoulder and she would be sitting calmly there

Just a suggestion: I have long-haired cats. The groomer at my vets does what they call a "hygiene shave" and just shaves some of the fur under the tail and down the back legs...and they stay much cleaner, and you don't notice them looking any different. .

to cat owners out there, it's a great tip to let your cat in with you when you shower. they'll know that the water isn't doing any harm to their humans and will grow curious of it. and when they do, you can start letting them play with water by putting some toys in it (maybe fish toys?) and letting them what they wanna do. try to avoid making bathing time a stressful activity for your cats and make it a time for relaxation and play! 🥰

When I was a child I was at the dentist and he took multiple children (without our parents) into the room. I was like one or two years older than the others, so I was the first and whispered me I should stay calm, even if it hurts a bit, so the other kids aren't scared. I stayed strong and acted completely calm even though it hurt a lot. The other kids cried anyways when it was their turn, so it didn't really work. 😁 But I learned that day, that even if it hurts, I can endure it and it's over quickly. That's why I never feared going to the dentist in all my life and can remember that moment ~32 years later. So no matter why GB was so calm, it was for his best. 🙂
