Other managers notice this lack of effort too so they are not doing themselves any favours other than being recognised as a slacker. Toss them out Ange. Ange should have given this assessment on certain other players: Udogie - what’s gone wrong for him this season?! Shadow of his former self. Son - not a leader. Head seems elsewhere and so many mistakes. Porro - can he even tackle? Bissouma - hot headed, can’t be relied upon Werner - lovely guy, super fast. No end product. Solanke - doesn’t give up. Ever. Kulu - a true leader. Should be captain. Bentancur - reliable. Davies - mr dependable, quietly goes about his business and gets the job done. Pape - digs deep, needs to be a little more mature in difficult situations.

I get that people think we are still a top 4 side and we should be performing better than we were with Harry Kane in the team, but hopefully people can start listening to Ange and understanding where we are at. A seriously depleted squad that is missing two if not 3 of our best players, two or which are in the top 5 in their position in the league in VDV and Romero. If Liverpool lose Van Dijk, if Arse lose Gabriel, if City lose Dias - all are more vulnerable let alone your first choice pairing. Layer on top the lack of players to rotate and also a lack of quality in squad depth and current performance levels, and what do people expect. It was the same last season post Chelsea. Ange is right to make sure the team are accountable - if you are going to war you don’t want to be giving pep talks to fragile egos, people just need to step up…as they say in the NFL it is next man mentality, you get your shot, so take it and if you can’t don’t be disappointed you aren’t getting more shots. It is really tough right now, it’s time for the players to stop letting Ange done - Son & Madders need to hit the right level, Porro and Udogie need to find some form, Solanke needs more service and to score more goals. But most of all, everyone needs to be giving everything they have got for this club every time we play as a bear minimum. Who said winning and doing something big was every easy - it never has been & the only ones who think it is have never tried taking a risk and trying to reach the top. Backing Ange all the way - let’s hope the club do some work in Jan as we are crying out for two fullbacks, a CB, CM and winger not to mention a backup striker. The reality is one or two players not the six we need which will bandaid our squad, but not repair it.

It's the same argument about Kane. Of course, he is great. No medals so far means nothing in terms of his achievements, had he spent his career at City or Liverpool, etc, and one plenty. Would that have meant he was a better player? No, is the answer. Achievements are much more impressive if they are gained from unexpected starting positions.
