I am not a music theorist but someone somewhere mentioned this piece of heaven classifies as neo-soul. No matter what it is I just love it 🙂 I love sudden switches of tempo when he sings, I love how he kinda melodically raps for a bit, I love his ad libs, I love the atmosphere of the song. It is classy but fresh, it is catchy but deep, it is beautiful but sad. His voice is EVERYTHING :-) Some silly head commented on Jungkook performance in Stay Alive after it was released that melody and Suga´s production are the most important parts of the track and basically ANY vocalist would make it sound equally great ( massive eye roll). It was an ignorant statement by whoever uttered such nonsense back then and My Time is just another prime example of how important vocalist´s skill, genuine talent and intuitive feel for the song and what it needs is. Jungkook is an absolute beast in emotive landscaping and his ability to use his voice as a story telling tool is unsurpassed. Loving the song, loving his voice, loving timeless feel it has. JK´s live performance of My Time was trending world wide after their concert ROFL. The guy is like a black hole - magnetic, attractive, endlessly powerful in his grip .....

I think I knew that reactor, just couldn't remember who exactly. Anyway, his statement is so non-sense! It was not an easy song to sing! A lot of vocal coaches reacted to SA already. Jungkook mastered his techniques, and is still in the process of learning and improving more! His vocals in SA is unmatched! My Time is something. His vocals, adlibs and stage presence, his charm, his swag - - - rolled into one is simply amazing! I haven't really moved on from his live perf. 😭😱🔥

Jino himself did love the song very much and couldn´t praise Jungkook´s performance enough, he was actually over the moon with Jungkook and his vocalization, but the comment section turned nasty ( it happened during Jino´s live). Some people just couldn´t not to try to discredit JK and some even said the song was meant for someone else and Jungkook "stole" it .... a comment that any vocalist would shine equally much because its melody and Suga´s production whats making SA that great was juts one of many "spicy" opinions - all directed towards Jungkook, of course. Nothing new here we have not seen before, unfortunately. His incredible talent is just so provocative and triggering to some ...... sad but true.

One thing i appreciate from bts, they are really different in their solo work. In their respective solo works, they really show their extraordinary vocals, both vocal lines and rap lines. But in the group, they really adjust the sound. I don't know if others agree, but I feel in the group they unite quality. Equalize the light, equalize the charm so that anyone who looks at their appearance can feel the 7 charisma which is almost the same.

Them being united is not the same as them being "equal". The "equalize" rhetoric is very dangerous for a group of individuals who have individual talents and individual achievements. Most of the time, I only see people talk about "equality" when they're talking about members getting equal credit (somehow it's never "talent", it's "give them equal credit" regardless) and it's usually used as a weapon to guilt-trip people out of complimenting Jungkook, specifically.

BTS had their debut when JK was 15 - but he signed with BigHit when he was... 13? The summer when he was 14 they sent him to the US for in-depth dance training for a month - his distancing from his "peers" started long before their 2013 debut, although the dorm life with his hyungs was on another level. I'm telling you, they will all wreck you in turn. 😄 You should hear his solo song Still With You, it’s a "coffee shop jazz-vibe" love song to ARMY released during the pandemic - gorgeous vocals! And he was actually only 13 in Western age when he left home to join Big Hit and 15 when they debuted. When they themselves talk age they use Korean age which can be a bit confusing since there's a 1-2 year difference.

As much as jungkook is loved… he’s seriously so underrated still bc he’s known for “being good at everything,” so when he learns something new or is a natural at something bc of his athleticism it almost becomes dismissed bc it’s “the golden maknae.” He’s def got stuff like being able to pick things up pretty quickly but he’s been working his ass off since he was literally in middle school ffs to constantly evolve and be perfect for his hyungs so they didn’t have to worry about him in that sense..and when you hear them talk about the first time jungkook was like passing out at the beginning of the concert bc his body was giving out a bit but he performed the entire concert and no one knew until the movie came out with behind the scenes stuff. It was shocking to see how bad off he was but how he still went out there bc jk is the main vocalist, lead dancer, sub rapper and center of this group… he has a lot of parts but always makes sure to be a support system for them on stage especially. He’s so humble and such a special artist … like the whole group is special… they’re multitalented and seriously all people that give me faith in the world lol if they exist like this then there’s hope for the rest of us inthink 😂 The choreo and outfit was definitely a shock during this song when we first saw it … but I guess he at one time said he wanted to do a solo dance that was more sexy…. So most of this is his own choreo also 😂😂😂😂 I love this guy… he’s unreal!!! Hope you got to check his vlives where he sings… his birthday one is special bc he actually started his live stream and said he wanted to take the special comments army left for his birthday and try to make a song.. live lol like he wrote , recorded a song background vocals , harmony and adlibs lol it’s insane to watch and so cool… then he took requests from army watching and sang live for like another hour . You def should check it out when you can. So proud of jungkook!!!

Would love if you could check out “jungkook king of acapella” by Ida s…. Some of it he’s singing just straight into the computer camera while streaming with no microphone or anything…. Just his raw ass vocals lol and some of the moments he’s singing with a mic but just live streaming and taking requests bc ppl always ask him to sing… he’s been doing it for awhile bc he didn’t know what to talk about and so he decided to start singing one day and the rest was history lol the vlive of him singing peaches by Justin beiber, leave the door open by Bruno mars…. A song by black bear I believe called “off my face is the second one I’d def recommend bc not only did this Angel sing those songs but again he started taking requests for bts songs and singing with them while doing the choreo for all of them in tiny … he gave us a room concert for like 45 min 😂 These bts songs he sings really highlight some of my favorite things that he does and those are harmonizing with vocalists but also rap harmonizing with rappers.. but does so many adlibs for vocals and raps as well.. some of those moments are iconic especially live! Anyway if he sings other members parts which he does a bit for those songs he almost always is harmonizing with them perfectly and not just trying to sing their parts and sing over them… it’s crazy hearing how he switches from a higher harmony to a lower one in a second and he ends up making new adlibs for those songs during them. He sometimes can be heard singing totally new adlibs not on the track in different live performances and I love that kinda stuff!!! But yeh anyway think you’d love these videos if you’d like to react to them 💜

One thing to remember is that JK and the rest don’t have plans to go anywhere without the others. They have solo mixtapes ready (that they have been taunting us with years… JK, Tae, JHope, Suga). Release the mixtapes you perfectionists! But overall the strength as a group is they all follow where RM leads and lean on each other. JK has said over and over he will follow RM anywhere, total trust there it’s adorable. But yes, as an artist he is peak perfection for stage presence, vocals, dancing etc. Also rule of thumb with a few exceptions (those being Spring Day, rapline songs, solo songs for Jin who doesn’t dance solo) the more serious a song the more hip thrusts they put in. I swear they use them like exclamation points. “Here is a song critique of social class inequality… best add hip thrusts… I said more hip thrusts!… emotional ballad on the struggles of youth … punctuated by body rolls…”. It’s endlessly amusing to me.
