Hey Dylan, love your playing. Your tone and touch is incredible and you've got a groove all your own. Take it from an old geezer with the first 5 notes of Statesboro tattooed on his shoulder, Duane couldn't be prouder of you and maybe just a wee bit jealous of your behind the slide magic. I've owned and slid on just about every top brand of guitars, from Gibsons to James Trussarts and nothing beats a PRS. My personal favs are my SC 58's and my DGT. No need to apologize when you're playing the best made guitar around. The fact that you make yours sound better than most is just an added bonus. Looking forward to seeing where your talent takes you. If you get a chance, try a Loic Le Pape guitar. A bit like your Mule. Keep on pickin' and grinnin'. Vern.

I’m the exact same way with guitars. I don’t really like anything modern. The NF53 is the only PRS that I actually like. It’s almost a dead ringer for the prototype Esquire. I love the pickups too. They are very Barden/Gatton-esqe. The Silver Sky looks…..cheap to me. I know it’s on par with a modern Ultra Strat, they just look off.

Congratulations, Dylan! I'm not sure why some people seem to have an aversion to PRS guitars. I guess they think they are only for dentists, but I think that's a bad rap. The prices are comparable to other american-made guitars, and sometimes it's just nice to have a guitar that doesn't fight back, and looks nice (for those of us that like the looks).

PRS is an innovator and in my opinion created the ultimate guitar with the Custom 24. Scale length, string spacing, headstock angle, it’s all there. 🇺🇸

My PRS SE is my best guitar. I can't afford a 3000$ guitar and of the high value 1000$ range the SE stands alone if the classic rock sound is what you are aiming for.

I’m much more of a hardtail/Tele guy and very much not a strat guy, so keep in mind I’m biased in saying go for the NF53. It’s super versatile and has become one of my favorite guitars, can do the country twang but I will say it’s not a straight-up Tele clone. It’s overall a more beefed up sound than a traditional Tele and has its own thing going on (which I like). If you know how to use your volume and tone knobs, then it’s able to cover a huge range of tones and to me is a perfect do-anything guitar without needing a bunch of bells and whistles. The Silver Sky is much closer to the traditional strat sound, so if you’re wanting to hear a more traditional Fender-style tone then you may like the SS better. But NF53 gets my vote all day

I would buy one. Like I said in the video, part of me has always wanted a Tele to be one of my primary guitars, but I have certain issues with them. This thing fixes those issues for me, is much more usable for me personally than a traditional Tele, and it’s on par quality-wise with Core PRS’s and high-end Fenders of similar or higher price. I recognize that it’s not for everyone, but I believe the price is justified and I would totally have bought one at some point if this hadn’t been given to me.

I really don’t understand what is in people’s minds when it comes to PRS. Yep! Their more expensive as a whole but they don’t have to be taken in, or be reworked at purchase. Important thing. Man, sounds killer. No PRS hate from me. There is a PRS sound and feel that I love. That said, I’ve never succeeded in owning one. The NF53 might change that. If you want a Tele, buy a Tele. The guitar I’m looking for is Tele-inspired, but not a Tele. I’ve been looking for years and never found one.

I've got one and it's definitely not a classic rock sound. Just yesterday I was looking at both the DGT SE and the Silver Sky SE. Both of those do a great job of getting those classic sound so I'm probably going to get both. Espicially since PRS finally put out the Silver Sky SE in some normal colors! LOL!
