I think it's because it's recording your right eye's perspective, and the black area is where it meshes with the left eye. Tbh it isn't bad for a VR video imo

Some other vr shooters I would reccomend: Pavlov shack has probably one of the best gunplay in all the vr shooters, and is definitely the most polished game. It is less tactical / realistic though. There also is Ghosts of Tabor, basically Escape from Tarkov in VR. Is has even more realistic gun handling and mechanics than onward, but it is definetly the most difficult, especially for vr beginners. Lastly you have Into the Radius, a singleplayer story game. It also has very realistic gun handling, but is also very scary and intense

VR recommendations for gun games: - Pavlov, Contractors and Onward = Multiplayer "Counter Strike/COD" style games (Onwards is dying slowly, Contractors is mod heaven and Pavlov is prolly the most played one due to Pavlov Shack versio). - Tactical Assault = lowpoly (getting high quality upgrade slowly, atm 1 map), hardcore solo/duo SEALs/Swat style gameplay loop with very heavy focus on realism and challenge (1-2 bullets and you are gone, NPCs can be very hard, move slowly and communicate with your team (if playing with others)). - Into the Radius = Masterpiece of a game, best possible game for Stalker fans and best there is for survival "horror". Worst thing in that game is the enemies being just black shadowy figures but with mods (mainly Stalker mod) enemies are brutal, more tactical, random and the feeling of being last survivor is just out of this world. No other game VR/flatscreen can give the same feeling of surviving at the end of the world. And when you get scared during night, drop your flashlight accidentaly (recommend using "hold grip" feature for more immersive feeling) and throw you only gun at enemies in pure fear because you can't find the bullets in the darkness, run back to your hideout and spend rest of your headset battery organizing your shelves and playing guitar while wondering how you gonna survive next day... that is the best immersion you can get in VR survival game. Unfortunately devs just announced that they are dropping the promised mod support, so there won't be any amazing mods and the game won't receive any major patches anymore. But that is because they are focusing all energy to the Into the Radius 2 and they already said that they are building that game from ground up with mod support. So ITR is great game to test if you want to experience survival horror with guns and get massive depression because ITR 2 is not out yet.

Now get Contractors VR. It has the best mod support of all VR FPS games.. It has all the CoD maps pretty much.. There's Star Wars Battlefront in there with full loadouts and classes.. There's Team Fortress 2 with all the guns and characters aside from Spy.. HALO with all the guns and a bunch of maps. It's kinda nuts what's going on in there, and no one outside of the VR community even knows. We've been playing CoD maps for years, it's truly awesome seeing some of the old favorites in full VR. I've played probably a hundred hours of CoD Terminal at this point, and it's just always fun. Every time. Oh, and the mods and maps download automatically when you join a server. Don't even need to look for the mods in the mod menu, just find servers to join and BAM, you're good.

Hey just some info abt handling guns with stocks, if you go into setting and set the stock as virtual, it really helps with controlling your weapon. It attaches the stock to your shoulder, basically meaning the only hand moving the gun at all is your fore grip hand. Up to you if you like it tho

There’s a single player mode. Other cool feature is Free Roam, it lets you explore and create strategies before going in with AI hostiles. There’s levels of difficulty: rookie, experienced, veteran, and elite. I started on rookie as a beginner, now am an elite player, having played for a year. Quite enjoyable experience!

I don't think this game has been updated to take advantage of the quest 3 yet so you might be better off with the quest 2. If you want to play any other games though, the quest 3 will be better. And I dont think you need the upgraded storage. Hope this helped!

Noob question Are the thumbsticks on the Quest 3 controllers clickable? I know that thumbsticks generally are clickable (for R3, L3), but I recently got a Quest 3 and don't want to break the controllers by trying to push them in. They feel a * bit * stiff when I try to press them. Are they supposed to click/press inward?

Onward is okay but Pavlov Shack just came out for Quest yesterday and IMO it's much more fun. The AI in Onward is garbage. It'll either act braindead or land a headshot from 2 miles away.

Make sure you enable "Virtual Stock." When you raise your gun it makes the back side of the rifle stick to your shoulder like it's simulating the gunstock pressed on your shoulders. I see when you aim there's a lot of wobble and that's because you're simulating shooting with both arms stretched out and the gunstock not touching anything.

The gun models in the Quest standalone versions are so trash; look like bitmap images. I have a Q2 and thought they were better in Q3. Apparently not. Meanwhile, Pavlov's guns have great detail and muzzle flash, even on my Q2.
