There's only no kangaroos becaue we don't allow them on our naval vessels. They make for hopeless sailors and the two cans of beer a day ration doesn't agree with them and they become aggressive drunks, not a good fit on a naval vessel.

I've had the pleasure to have some of the Australian Sailors on my ship when we were underway, and they're definitely a likeable bunch. One morning, one of them sounded reveille, and the only part I remember is "WIKEY WIKEY" (due to accent) and everyone looked around like "....what?"

I was invited to have a look around an Aussie navy ship in 2000. What they didn't explain was they meant the outside as the gangway collapsed when we were boarding and we slid down the side of it and the wharf on our way into the harbour. Still, I looked on the bright side of things, at least I could say I was in Australia for the Olympics even if I was tied to a bed in intensive care. But thanks to the staff at Darwin hospital for putting me back together again
