The jumpscare at 1:02 is the perfect showcase of this series' blend of comedy and horror. It's both freaky and unnerving but also hilarious and silly at the same time. It's also one of many examples of how unconventional and unpredictable a lot of the game over jumpscares are in this series in comparison to other franchises like FNAF (though the entire series in general is unpredictable in all sorts of ways anyways like !!HUGE MAN!! for instance). It's literally unpredictable and you'd have no reason to suspect that the intruder would do anything aside from just sitting there (let alone stretch his arms and neck towards the camera like he came from a TF2 SFM video), and it happens so fast that you don't have time to process it. On top of all that, he's not even doing anything threatening, he's literally just going "BOO!"

i remember when i first played this game and that heehoo bitch came running up to the house (2:56) i literally got so scared that i couldn't move. i just had to sit there and watch him stumble over while i had a silent heart attack.

I didn't even realize how many of these existed! I encountered a couple of these, but considering how much they stand out from the other anomalies, I figured there were just a couple of these to mix things up the odd time. I also didn't know they were game-enders either as I'd report them immediately. I only saw the bedroom intruder after I failed from too many anomalies as he slid into the room while the camera was malfunctioning. I thought it was just a rare death sequence, but I guess not! It makes me a bit uneasy to think just how safe I've felt in these quiet rooms all this time as I was unaware of all these potential threats, like learning there's been a stranger living in my basement for the last few days who wanders around my house when I'm asleep.

For the most part it's spot the difference with some intruders that tend to startle than actually frighten. The jumpscares themselves are more goofy and in all likelihood won't be seen unless you just ignore them (and in most cases you can switch cameras and report them).
