People who avoid answering questions should be immediately fired. Do it like a courtroom with contempt charges. Start with a thousand bucks, and double it each time they refuse to answer. After 5 times, start with jail time...and keep doubling it as well for each time they don't answer.

So, you don't really understand how the various governmental branches work. Congress has no power to do anything except issue subpoenas to conduct investigations (other than its usual business of debating, writing and passing bills). That's why it seems like congress doesn't ever do anything with these lying, treasonous bureaucrats who appear before the various congressional committees - because congress is powerless. The DOJ prosecutes contempt of congress and perjury charges, and I assure you, they aren't going to prosecute their own people.

See…what I find dystopian is the sense of injustice these congressmen seem to have with these Biden administration officials including the GOP holdovers from the Trump administration. I think the frustration comes from so many of trumps associates being charged and found guilty. Bannon, Flynn, Cohen,Stone and some lesser known ones that I can’t remember. I imagine many of these same congressmen who use words like dystopian, also got caught up in the schemes to prevent the peaceful transfer of power. Oh the injustice of it all. That’s all.

The actual law enforcement are the local(municipality), county, and state LEOs. -- Funding them provides better training, better equipment, more LEO's to the department, better preparedness, better understanding.
