Your BANK needs to go after Dean! They released the money & he didn't do the work. He should have given you a list of subcontractors, what they did & their contact info. My daughter is doing a renovation right now in Lenoir, NC & has a good lawyer from Hickory. I'll get you his contact info.

I'm a Barrister but I live in New Zealand. I am not sure if you have a 'disputes tribunal' for disputes like this, but I would check with the local court house or citizens' advice bureau. In NZ we also have community law centres where you can book a free appointment with a lawyer.

KZbinr April Bee has a uncle that’s a licensed contractor based in Northern NC, I believe. He traveled to her home in the Richmond, VA area and did her renovations. He basically did the majority of her fixer upper house and did an amazing job. As subscribers, we enjoyed watching him work and nicknamed him “Uncle Chocolate” lol

How long did it take you to draw in on the wall.? It's going to look amazing. Keep on that contractor...get him an as many calls or film and remember to tell him you are recording him..other wise it won't hold in court. Yhey will say it's hear say. Tricky they can be. I hope that you guys are expedition in your handling of this contactor....to get your money back to get things signed off to be able to move forward. Without a doubt this guy probably does not have a valid license or is working under some one else that could pull these permits..if they even did so!! My question is..how would the lender give him the funds if he were problematic?? Or perhaps he's holding out for something??
