It doesn't sound stupid because I was kinda bullied when I was younger (10y ago) and it never bothered me because it was a really "passive bullying". I had true friends who I still am friends with, who did their best to protect me so I was okay and it didn't affected me that much! But when I watched this drama I realized that it played a lot o my personality, on my journey and I also realized it wasn't only a "kind bullied" because they where moking some of my physical trait and sexualized my body... It played a lot on my personality (anxiety, depression...), the way I view myself, my body and how people could/would see me. This drama was like a open-mind, and the end was satisfying enough for me! Now that I know, I understand myself way better!

The most fucked up thing is that the bullying where they "tested" to see whether the curling iron was hot on her, was from a REAL LIFE case in south Korea, where the perpetrators where MIDDLE SCHOOLERS. They were so mf young like wtf, it's so disgusting to think about.

The actress that plays the younger villain, is such a sweet person in real life. I watched her in Revenge of Others (WHICH I RECOMMEND, another mystery drama that plays out in high school) where she was amazing as well!! She is phenomenal here, and unfortunately, her character made others so mad that she received death threats and a lot of hate... FOR ONLY DOING HER DAMN JOB!?!

A little fun fact: Shin Ye-eun (the main antagonist's younger self) also acted in DAY6's "Shoot Me" MV as (surprise, surprise) the main antagonist too. Watching her in "The Glory" really amazed me of how good her acting was. So hauntingly terrifying & so into her character which made me hate her the most in the series. But wow, such a good actress 👏🏼

My sister finally agreed to watch a K-drama and this was it! She got her husband to watch it with her! My sister was so bullied growing up and I tried to prepare her. They both liked the show !! Can’t wait to watch it with you! She cried, got angry, satisfied at the end of the show, and thanked me. She knows it was a show but touched her in a place. She is 65 years old. She was surprised. Still trying to get her to watch other K-dramas but she says she needs some time.

the girl who played young yeonjin, the main bully, is actually an actress who's played quite a few lead roles. she was in revenge of others right before and it was her first darker role where she could explore emotions more but still a kind hearted main character. she got a lot of criticism after this role because people were acting like she was the bully in real life since she played the role so well, and this also happened with actor sunghoon who played the villain in super popular queen of tears. it's really interested because you can see how insanely talented they are but they get hate irl (not many people know or talk about the actress's hate train bc it was not as big as sunghoon's). anyways, I am really impressed by all the actors in this. and Cait, don't worry about not finishing it it's a hard watch for sure but soooo satisfying when the bullies get what they deserve. also funny fact, the male lead (hasn't rlly been introduced much yet) is actually dating the main bully in real life HAHAH

Glad you posted this cus this is seriously a legend. Absolutely must watch both seasons to get the whole story. It's soooo binge worthy and re watchable even if there's horrible aspects. I don't typically watch and finish many kdramas, but THIS! It had just the right amount of storytelling, directing, acting, and I felt completely satisfied with how everything unfolded. The way it portrayed the harsh reality of bullying and physical/mental toll was impactful. Personally, I believe it delivered justice. My heart goes out to the victims of bullying, I feel like calling it just bullying undermines their experience. It's torturous, cruel, attempted m*rder and even leads to d*ath. It's scary how capable evil humans are. Yet the system protects the perpetrators instead of victims most of the time.

You may never see this, but one of my favorites (a sleeper hit), is “song of the bandits.” It’s a Korean western that gives me a different idea of Korea during the 1900s. I’ve seen hardly any reactions for it - and the OST is AMAZING. Even if it’s in your own time. Enjoy! Also people can Shut Upppp about their own preferences. I’ve seen a LOT of kdramas and this is one of my favorites - I have CPTSD and this show is magnificently made. The director (if you didn’t know already) has contact with the victim(s) who experienced this in real life - and helped tell their story with their approval (given this is revenge and they didn’t go that route, but have justice now 💜)

Another good k-drama to watch is tomorrow it's really good at portraying how hate and bullying can lead people suicide. But there's are a group of people who help try and prevent people from doing it and stop suicide rates from being so high and show people their worth. the problem with My Demon & why there are divided opinions about it is simply cuz it has a different type of romance In (KDRAMA WORLD?) there are 3 popular types of romantic dramas: meloromance, high-school students romance, and romantic/comedy which is the type that is hard for everyone to really love-where the plot is very simple easy to understand & no complexity, no dilemma at all to solve(only fill with romantic scenes) & it mainly revolves around the two main leads & often the sub-characters are basically fillers; and since it is basic on manhwa both the characters and their relationship is too perfect to be realistic (the drama ending is 100% a happy one) I write this from my personal opinion as reasons why I don’t prefer dramas like [ My Demon, King the Land, a business proposal, shooting star, cheer up, love alarm, true beauty, backstreet rookie ] it’s true that I don’t find an emotional connection that makes me enjoys them However, no one dares to judge the people who love these dramas no one have the right to tell what to watch everyone has his own taste.. in the end the decision is up to you, just choose what you want.

what's most heartbreaking about this is this happens IRL for a host of various reasons. so much so that teacher quit or commit because they can't reprimand the kids because parents will mouth off on them. it's really sad and honestly quite scary.
