There comes a time in any career when you get to a certain point, you take a look around, and you’re like, you know what? I think I’m done. I’ve accomplished a lot. Met some great people. Made some great connections. Felt like I’ve actually contributed something to the world. And I just kind of feeling like, I’ve got nothing left to prove-and there’s no further that I want to take this. So this is goodbye.

Just found your channel and I’ve enjoyed browsing old content. Saw this video pop up and thought “aww crap I just found this dude” … relieved to hear you’re retired from the Army and not HSS. I can 100% relate to the feeling of being ready to put down one adventure for another (prior USAF). I had the feeling that it was going to be about your retirement from the army 😁 I completely agree with you on the success of the channel, it’s about being consistent in delivering core values and a message for your readers/audience. In the influencers sphere, these people actually deliver content for themselves but not necessary for the benefit of their audience and, of course, without being consistent. I have so much respect for the fact that you are able to make those choices. To listen to your feelings when they tell you it is time to move on. That process appears to come natural to you which may make it tough to put into words, but I think many people would benefit if you elaborate on that in a future video. First, thank you for those kind words. It's interesting you say that because I think it's just that I get to a point where I feel like I've maxed the opportunity out and squeezed all the juice that I care to squeeze. Of course with the Army being a career and all--not just a hobby on the side--the calculations were a little different and I certainly would not have been entertaining the idea if I did not have HSS to jump to. In that respect, I'm very lucky. I know a lot of people thinking about making the jump who have no idea what they want to do.

Last year I was sitting at the kitchen counter with my nine year old daughter who was watching a video on her school Chromebook and I heard a familiar voice. It was you and other members of the US Army Field Band talking about the instruments that each of you play. The video was provided by the school to help kids choose their instrument for the upcoming school year and I remember telling my daughter "hey, I know that guy!" Small world. Hats off. This is a great channel and has really helped my own personal style. Your videos around 1-2 years ago e.g. how to style chinos, denim shirts, blazers etc. were fantastic. My personal favourite is, however, the ‘ultimate beginner’s wardrobe capsule’. I have to admit though that I am watching your channel a bit less recently - not a function of the frequency of the posts but more so that I have sensed a shift in the style of the content. There has been a pivot towards more sponsored material which I can understand. However, in my humble opinion the neutral style advice has tapered off as a consequence. I hope you have time to continue to drop in videos that were characteristic of a couple of years ago that resulted in avid followers such as myself. Keep up the good work!
