This woman is so brave! Not being afraid to be lonely or scared in that weather, I applaud her courage and it's true we need to understand better how our activities impact weather and especially plastic contamination in the ocean is not something that people in general are aware of and not a lot of research is being conducted on it. My favorite video of the series so far!

From Japan to California, is easier because wind blows you, so you don't have to row to make progress. Rowing just speeds up the trip

Props so Sonya! At the end of the video though, I got really nervous when they said how the trip had to stop. For a second I thought it was going to say she died or something. I hope she makes it next year!

Is there any video of the trip? . .

Good for you Sonya, I can only echo what others have said, it takes someone really brave to do this. I've read "The Perfect Storm" and the reality of a 200 foot wave or something similarly massive is a fact that keeps a lot of people from doing this. The Pacific Ocean is a huge challenge. I recall hearing some lads doing this across the Atlantic. they almost made it but due to the size the their ship (30 feet or something) they got caught in a storm and had to get rescued. Not to discourage you, best of luck, I really hope for fair weather on your adventure!!!

Unfortunatly, she canceled the trip after a week of rowing because very bad weather was coming. She made it 155 miles off of the coast of Japan. She said she will try again this year though!

She quit after only 155 miles? It took her eight days to row 155 miles? That's less than 20 miles a day. Did she do any training at all? Based on how fat she is, I'm guessing she didn't. Probably just another person with money who wants fame. I shouldn't have watched this video.

Yeah, she gassed out very early on due to lack of conditioning. She wanted recognition, but didnt have what it takes to be in shape for an event like this.
