I work in entertainment creative marketing and have been saying for months that all of them were making it. This was all intentional. Why would someone spend so much money on promoting each person individually just to cut someone last second and start the group off with controversy and bad press? On top of that listen to the words he says “think of the these last 2 as the ones you personally chose” (basically what he said). The whole point is to make you all feel connected and responsible for to this group.

When the board switch-up happened, I was like "damn, he got me good!," let out a heavy sigh of relief, and hysterically laughed at both the plot twist and myself for actually getting taken for a ride. The man still has it after all these years, even had me - somebody who's so sure he has some bs prepared to troll us all - going "wow, really YG?" when he explained his reasoning for excluding Rora and Asa. The way he presented this shit was actually really convincing. Nobody in the Kpop world does marketing strategies like this man lmao. Now, I wonder if we'll get something like Treasure Map as a predebut content leading up to the debut date - I'm sure just as you are that they have something prepared. I'm really hoping we get something next week at least. We still haven't gotten the clean version of the 2NE1 mashup dance performance and I'm just scratching my head in disbelief. Was the guy in charge of uploading slept on the wheel or have the editing team not finished yet? I don't understand the long holdup. I wouldn't mind waiting longer for it but it'd be criminal to not release the clean version as that was a literal perfect performance with an amazing choreography that showcased the girls' dancing skills the best. YG I beg you, even if I had to pay for its release I would in a heartbeat.

I totally expect a "road to debut" reality/variety tv show maybe in line with something like "1,2,3 IVE" showing us a bit more about the preparations and also having some fun bonding activities / games for the members to bridge the gap until debut. As for this reveal: He really dragged that one until the last moment :D Did you notice? The ages for the members on these cards are wrong (for example Chiquita 13 and Ruka 20). That was true at the end of last year or beginning of this year, but it is not true for the recent months (because of their birthdays). Which begs the question: When was this "reveal" filmed (and therefore the members decided)? ;) I believe, it was a marketing stunt (that worked perfectly), but the decision (and these episodes) where filmed before they released their first teaser (starting the marketing campaign).The only part filmed more recently might be the interview at the end of last episode where YG says the date May 12th. If they really wanted to create a "survival" type setting with a real possibility for elimination, they would have started their marketing campaign with that premise to set expectations right from the beginning, avoiding the risk to mislead fans . They knew exactly what they're doing (drama!) and it worked just as planned. :D Babymonster now has a very dedicated and passionated fanbase that already knows all the members on first name basis. :)

I've been saying this. I feel they could have way more fans if they just stated this was either a "debut documentary" or a "survival show" from the start. I've seen people say they'll wait til they announce final members before checking them out. Some of those people will probably not even watch the content that was just shown. Also there would have been more love for YG for keeping the "eliminated" members. Instead it's so obvious they purposely wanted to mess with the fans with all the hints from the editing, which I still can't find the reason for it other than "it'll be funny" lol. The funny thing about this announcement was that YG did kind of get me and it would make sense why the other members were seen at the YG building, but the one thing that I noticed was this was recorded a while ago. The ages on some of them were incorrect if this was done live or even this year. Chiquita's birthday is in February so her card should read THAILAND/14, Ahyeon is 16, Ruka is 21, and Asa is 17. This tells me that it was planned this way from the start. Also, I guess technically he didn't lie since BABYMONSTER isn't debuting as a 7 member group but BABYMONS7ER is a 7 member group. I wonder if they are going to keep it with the 7 which I personally like. So I wonder if the sub-groups are going to be called BAEMON or if that was their internal project name for the group. They registered for trademark on both names and I would think that if it was just and internal project name that they wouldn't trademark BAEMON since it is easy to leak. BABYMONSTER House as content next? I think that all of us found the 'Behind the Scenes' entertaining but it would be more of a road to debut series. I would watch something like that.

Jan… like you I was not fooled by YHS and his words LOL. Yeah he originally wanted a smaller group and he intended the 5 members “he chose”, but I think the solo missions and the 2NE1 dance performance was more of a confirmation that BABY MONSTER HAS TO BE 7. Of course for dramatic effect they edited the Last Evaluations to keep us in the edge of our seats and makes us worry about the final line up. Also, let’s look at what he’s wearing in this video..it looks familiar LOL! I swear he filmed this announcement video either last year a few weeks or a month or so after the final mission… or he earlier this year cuz look at the girls’ ages?? I’m like those ages is incorrect sir.. WHEN DID YOU FILM THIS HMMM??? 😂 Anywho.. I had to be totally honest even though I knew it will be OT7. I got really happy and teared up when I saw Ruka picked as 2nd member and Haram as 4th member of the “original 5” plan of YHS. They are 2/3 of my bias line..so I got emotional. I experienced the 5 stages of grief just throughout the video lol But actually, I do think the original 5 member lineup (without drama) are the kr and jp line, and Im sure he knows those 5 well... its just in 2021 when two thai members joined yg. It doesn't convince me that he will let go of Asa just like that for another girlgroup? YG is a schemer. IMO, he wants as much hype as possible for BM due to the fact that BP's contract is up in August. This is so old. Shouldn’t waste my time. I’ve seen this probably 2 months ago but still behind. Everything he says is pointing to 7. He says many things about his or YG choice. Basically saying that “was the plan”. Many times he says something like that. It was very obvious the plan had changed.
