I've been following your channel for a couple of years. Love the videos man. Back in Dec 2023, I traded in my 2017 MK7 R (530 bhp and all 034 motorsports suspension catalog, wheels, etc) for a 2024 Audi RS3. My Golf R was waaay faster than my RS3. I ran 10.9 quarter mile passes a few times with the R. Hell, my RS3 feels like a Camry compared to my Golf R lol. However, I know for a FACT that once the 8Y's ECU is unlocked, the RS3 will be on a different level. Just Stage 1 will bring my RS3 power to the R's territory without so many modificatios. I know you don't really modify your vehicles, but I would wait at least until ECU is unlocked and do Stage 1. Also, I agree 100% with you regarding the lack of low-end torque and weird RPMs on the RS3. All that will be sorted out by the tuners. It usually takes about 3 years for tuners to develop their software on new platforms. 8Ys ECU is very different than 8Vs. 8Y came out towards the end of 2021. We should be very close 😉

I owned a 2021 Forte GT for 3 years and LOVED it. I had zero major issues the entire time. Only minor issue I had was once or twice a year, no sound would come out of the speakers but disconnecting and reconnecting the fuse or turning the car off and on again solved it. Anyway, the Forte GT is an amazing daily driver, especially with the GT2 package. Also, the way it is geared, it is very torquey even compared to my Elantra N. Ultimately, I do think it is too slow for what you want tho. You didn’t include this one but the Elantra N is an interesting choice too because it would solve your RS3 too sluggish/too fast problem. The EN is very quick around town as it is. Sometimes, you do need to downshift to get that torque you want but, unlike the RS3, it isn’t too fast once you downshift. It is also surprisingly peppy across the different modes. Even Eco gets the jump on most regular traffic. If it weren’t for the slightly dated technology, I’d suggest a used RC 350 or IS 350. They’re a bit boaty but they’re almost as fast as the BMW 330i, they have some surprising luxury creature comforts, and the ride is comfy af (I test drove one last year).

My thoughts on having two cars...one is the fun car, used in nice weather, and high performance (2024 BMW M2 is what I have); two is the daily driver, used in all weather, can carry 4 people comfortably, OK performance, quiet. In my case, I have the 2018 Honda Accord Touring 2.0 turbo (bought new in late 2017) which has a stage 1 tune (+6 psi) from Hondata. I bought it new for $35K and it still only has 26K miles. Now for you...keep the M2 (wonderful car) and go with an electric car, whether it be Tesla, Kia, Chevy, whatever. Charge it at work so you don't need a fancy charger in your garage. 200+ miles of range and with dual motors, plenty of power. The only other semi-electric cars that I like are possibly a plug-in hybrid, which will give you about 35-40 miles on electricity and plenty of range to run around town before the motor kicks on. It also gives you the dual option of being able to drive out of town and not worry about looking for a place to charge your electric car. Of course you are limited in plug-in hybrids...Prius comes to mind.I have a friend who has a Ford plug-in hybrid and he runs one tank of gas per year with it, strictly in-town use.

How abt a Mazda 3 Gt? It has low end torque (abt 340) U can find a pre owned 2022 for 17k or sth
@JVette014 ай бұрын
That is a great option. However, gas mileage and primitive 6 speed auto kinda draw me back.
@PacMan7904 ай бұрын
Stay clear of the Kia. My 2014 Forte started burning oil at 80k miles and blew an engine right before 100k miles. Luckily, Kia replaced the engine at no cost to me, but it was still a hassle to deal with. If I were you, I’d wait for the MK8.5 man.

If I were u I would get a GR Corolla or another golf R. That way it feels like a different experience rather than just a worse BMW. The b58 is a great engine but the s58 is better in every way except it gets half the mpg. I would not even consider the b48 if it’s only 10k more for a b58, MUCH better engine. I just bought a c6 z07 carbon pack as a secondary car since I daily the G87

Have you looked into Mazda 3 turbo? All wheel drive and looks nice. I like the sedan version more than the hatch but both look sweet. 227 hp 310 lb ft of torque. It makes 250 hp and 320 lb ft of torque with premium fuel. Has a luxury feel inside and is a nice lil daily.

Get the Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor. Teslas are a next level feel on the road. Instant torque gets me through the yellow lights quicker than my Supra! New rules when you drive a Tesla: green light go, red light stop, yellow light go very fast! Tesla’s have that feel of a jet taking off plus you’ll learn a lot about EVs and why not… the future is going EV! U have an ICE car already… so have the best of both worlds! I like the brake regen when hitting the canyons as it allows me to focus more on my driving without really using the brakes… and with brake regen you’ll be hardly using the brakes anyway and this gives you a new level of control. A lot of people use the brakes too much (coming from ICE cars) on a Tesla when tracking and they overheat unless u upgrade them… when they should time the approach into the curves with the regen and slingshot out of the apex taking advantage of the instant torque. Ice cars you would use heel-and-toe shifting before entry into a turn while a vehicle is under braking, preparing the transmission to be in the optimal range of rpm to accelerate out of the turn. I drove many cars and honestly the Tesla is my favorite. I can’t stand the sound of 4 cylinders (yeah I know why it’s like that… I built a few cars) with modified exhaust systems… reminds me of the maintenance crew here with their leaf blowers. The RS3 (half V10) has a beautiful sound that’s for sure. The Supra purrs nicely as well. To bad you’re not getting the new M3P that hits 627 HP (kW discharge rate) when optimally charged and preconditioned… then you’d be beating most cars like a red headed stepchild ;)

Pretty nice choices to be honest, maybe except fot the forte gt, it is a bit meh imo. The new model 3 is a pretty nice choice cause its quiet, has instant torque and pretty quick if you go for the dual motor one.

Ive brought this up to you before, and I know you aren't a fan of Tesla, but the new 2024 Tesla 3 performance as a daily driver is the best bang for the buck out there currently imo. I understand you'd want to lease due to potential price cuts and depreciation, which I get and is a valid concern, but there's also the $7500 rebate available, and if you order this month there is 1.9% apr / 72 months. People warming the battery first and with a good charge are running 0-60 in 2.8, 10.8sec ET@ 126mph in the 1/4, and 60-130 well into the 8sec range on street surfaces. Turns and stops decently as well. Excellent visibility, compliant, quiet ride and next level tech. If you hate the haptic turn signal buttons, there is now a turn signal stalk retrofit available. I honesty cant stand most EV's, Elon Musk or Tesla either, but daily a Tesla S Paid and freakin love it! Performance gas cars/toys are for the weekend. The new Tesla M3P is quite hot right now, and should do well on your channel.

@JVette014 ай бұрын
No, too expensive and it doesn’t perform that well for the price
@vadim71314 ай бұрын
@@JVette01 CT4-V Blackwing is one of the most , if not the most fun to drive sports sedan on the market currently. Its lighter and more agile and nimble than CT5-V BW. There’s talks of a limited edition/spectrum series 8.5 Golf R. I would lease a Tesla M3 and wait to see what VW comes out with. I think the tesla would make more sens for you'r need of a daily. Although these bmw B58 have great gaz economy, with m240i xdrive I can do 40 MPG on the highway if I'm gentle with it, since it has low end torque, the RPM is super low on the highway so very economic. I had a civic DX-G 2010 before and I think they have the same gaz consumption on the highway. The civic was at around 3400 RPM at 120 km/h while the bmw is a 1700 RPM.
