Halloween after kids are nice. We turn off the lights at the front of our house and watch movies in the family room, it's at the back of the house. I really love the layout of our new house, we couldn't do that with our old home, even with the outside light off, blinds and curtains pulled we would get several knocks. And then caos would rain supreme as all 3 of our dogs, we are currently dogless til Nov 12 and then we get the new puppy, would go absolutely nuts barking. And just as they would settle it would start all over again. Now when our kids still lived at home we did do the whole handing out candy, and once the kids stopped trick or treating, they liked to hand out the candy. But once they left, after the first year we would turn off every light, kennel the dogs and run away from the house, either to our local watering hole or a friend's house til about 10pm.

We thought about running away, but we voted to just stay in. My hubby isn't home often, so when he is, I kinda hang on to him.
