After rewatching this I realized that there are two types of villains. Those who abandon themselves to anger and hatred, and follow the path of evil until their own choices lead them to self-destruction; and those who at some point manage to put their anger aside, and decide that their life is too valuable to waste it like that. And this is basically what happens in real life. You can chace vengeance till it destroy you, or just let it go and live your life pacefully. The choice is yours.

Griffith and Rumpelstiltskin of all people both syncing up to the "You never know the top till you get too low" works surprisingly well for them. Femto, Griffith at his top is literally born out of tortured Griffith at his lowest. Rumpelstiltskin managed to snatch away what's basically an entire timeline where he won from a simple contract to take ONE day and suddenly he's literally at top of the food chain, forget about Fairy or Charming.

What I love about villains is that they are a dark reflection of human nature. They are an example to the audience of the danger of unchecked toxic traits. Pride, hate, pleasure, vengefulness, stubbornness, greed, wrath, and jealousy.. villains are just heroes if it’s all left unchecked, and left to fester upon itself, and turn into something wicked. What’s interesting about villains is that the audience can almost peer into their characters and find pieces of themselves in it, because really they’re all just people who’ve lost themselves to their impulses. It’s why we love villains. They’re tragic, but so complex and cool and funny.

0:23 k but can we talk about how good and underrated this movie is? The "villain" (snake) turned out to be someone who makes justice in his way. Describing it as "sending them to hell". It explains so many things of the real world but it still is a kids movie. The villains in general are so well writen, the characters desing are so original and realistic that it makes you uncomfortable in some way, the plot is interesting, it has a great soundtrack, realistic villains, ugh everything is so perfect.🐙

“Villains are hero's who weren’t saved.” LeT mE eXpLaIn WhY Take Syndrome for example: He was just a kid with dreams of becoming a superhero. When his idol brought him down, he was sent into a depression which caused him to try to prove he was better than the others. He could’ve been a good hero, but he wasn’t saved and was just brought down. Since I’m an anime fan, I’m gonna use Dabi for this next example: He was a kid who just had twisted morals and a few issues. He could’ve been a good hero, but because of his fucking PARENTS, he left them and became a villain. Last one is The Onceler which is pretty obvious: He has EXTREME mommy issues and felt like he wasn’t enough for anyone. When his clothes got popular and his parents acknowledged him, he continued to make them so he could be loved. In the end, he realized his mistake, but that could’ve been all avoided. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.
