“I’m so sorry that you’re deaf” is the same if I say “I’m so sorry that you’re hearing” 👀

😂 Love this 😁 had to go to tesco the other day, there were so many people, kids yelling and screaming, the music was annoying, announcements every few minutes. Turned off my hearing aids and had a lovely peaceful shopping experience 😌

im autistic with misophonia so i hate a lot of noises people find normal, even people talking can trigger me and cause me extreme distress. one of the only reasons i wish i wasnt deaf is music and knowing what certain things sound like

I am deaf, It’s true about noise, BUT there have too many so good noise or sound. I had many hearing friends and they did explained me what sound like. Like music or animals voice or rain sound. Prefect example about rain, my hearing friend told me, rain make my hearing friend to feel so peaceful and make me easy sleep. That part we miss lots good noise or sound to make us so peaceful. I am still proud of deaf BUT I always want hear to sound.

Facts! 😂 it’s very true deaf cannot hear noise. As a hearing person who is bilingual in bsl and English I get this from hearing people Also when they know I sign. They say “ it’s so good your helping deaf people” implying deaf struggle. Or “ how can you sign for a hearing person”. Even from my hearing family I get “ BSL is not important deaf should learn to hear and talk it’s a shame they cannot do that so they can communicate with the hearing world”. This last one I strongly disagree with as I am very much involved with the deaf community and I believe that deaf are the most inspirational people I’ve ever met, they have a beautiful language and that hearing are the ones who should make change and adapt not deaf. Bsl is a language within its own right and I stand with the deaf community for having it equally appreciated as much as English is

I grew up profoundly Deaf and got cochlear implants when I was young. I was raised bilingual. I was SO APALLED when someone said the first phrase to me. I didn't even know where to start. I was like, "Thanks... I'm deaf too though." And walked off. 😂😂😂 They were VERY confused. I do get the comment that Deaf people should learn how to read lips or speak English occasionally, especially when the person doesn't know that I'm also Deaf. It is very... Annoying. Everyone communicates differently. It's silly. It would be like asking others to stop writing as a mode of communication. 🤦🏻‍♀️

@@tryggr1703 thank you for sharing this with me 😃🤟. I feel there is not enough understanding among hearing people for exactly what is the best communication for deaf as you know already there are different variations of deaf. I feel the massive miss understanding is when they hear your deaf voice!. If your deaf voice is clear I’ve noticed that hearing will think “ oh he doesn’t need sign! I can just talk” when actually they may still need sign as the deaf person maybe only have half hearing or only hear in certain settings and not in others. It’s. A continue battle I have with other hearing people. As they are not as interested in sign language as the deaf community like me so they don’t understand why it’s so important and why I value deaf people so much

If I’m being honest, I love music and it’s a big part of my life, but I kinda want to be deaf 😅. It’s a whole community that’s so supportive and I know I can be friends with everyone, but I can’t be IN the community.

I get that some people want to be a part of a community... Learning ASL is a great way to get involved, but you do not have to lose your "hearing privileges" to be a part of something that is meaningful or a wholesome community. However, to be a part of the ASL community, I do expect you to understand how much Deaf History, Culture, and our legal struggles in America and the UK means to us. Please don't ever wish that you are Deaf. 😅 You are who you are and we all would be better off learning how to accept that.

You have a good point your viewing to see that’s how much respect or not by one of them who has wrong perspective, or just being confusing to ask some silly questions. But one of them who has given correct answer to get back fairly! Nobody who has more know better or not perfect for sharing their burden! 🙏😔

The dislikes 👎 are people who ask or make fun of people like me because I'm either busy, caught up in my work, or just don't care, just caught up in the moment. "Can't you hear me? Yes, but I really don't care. I'm just totally caught up in the moment." I use ASL to not only learn and to teach myself and others ASL, I want to use ASL just to act that I'm deaf or hard of hearing and get inside of people and mess with their minds, just a little bit. Sneaky, manipulative, but just another part of me that is gifted or talented.

I actually wouldn't be mad if I woke up and couldn't hear one morning. I've dealt with the opposite and have had extremely sensitive hearing my entire life to the point where I want to hurt someone for hearing them chew or certain high pitched decibels or simple loud noises drive me insane bc I hear them so deeply. My sight and situational awareness are also super intense. I despise hearing most people even speak bc I know their tone and words are fake compared to who they really are. At this point, I'd trade my irritating ass ears that pick up an ant's fart to be deaf. I hate my hearing and people that much 😤🥲😂
