I also attended the Sony event in NYC, but as part of the hoi polloi general admission crowd. You media types got in earlier, I assume. I too had a 3rd party lens (a Sigma 24-70 F2.8 I needed for a nightclub drag-queen shoot later that night). Had a great time at the Sony event. My favorites were the subway scene, the snowfall setup, and the dancers (the toughest to capture in-focus and un-blurred on my A7CR). I had just gotten the TTartisan 75mm the previous week. Agree with your assessment. Great bargain, even at list price.

My question is: if I had to choose between the 2 lenses now, which I will only use for wedding video, along with a Sony a7s III, which would be better?
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis2 ай бұрын
Between the 85 and the 75? Well, having a first party lens can be great having focus breathing compensation and also, the stabilization will work better if you’re shooting video. If it’s in the budget, the more traditions 85 focal length at 1.8 with added video strengths is a good call. But if you’re on a budget and taking photos mostly or on a gimbal for video, the 75 could be a great option

Talking about 75's , Voigtlander Nokton 75 1.5 has gotten good notices, one User review I read said 'Nice, but i's no Summicron' ! Not yet interested as I bought 2 other Voigtlander for Z recently. Though I don't have a real need for portrait lens, I do I have F mount AFS 85 1.8 G, I can use adapted on Z or on a D810. The F mount 85 1.8 of course us not as well regarded as the 1.4, which seemed to expensive for my usage. All personal and general walk-around use.

And analogue lenses, low light... It beast bestie if it is not moving but still... Weren't you quite palomour to it, weren't you? No one ever made 1000000$ camera comparison versus doggie, I still ca't get why...

Hello, I have already watched about 50 videos about the Sony ttartisan 75mm f2 lens, unfortunately I did not learn what I wanted. I won't lie when it comes to lenses, I'm a newbie, so far I've only used compact cameras. I'm currently planning to buy a Sony ZV-E10, and I'm wondering whether, instead of buying a camera with a standard lens attached, I should buy the mentioned Ttartisan 75mm f2. And here's my question: does this lens have the so-called "zoom"? Like, for example, a kit lens from Sony? Seeing as I'm writing 75mm, I don't think so, but I'd rather ask and be sure.
@MarkBennettCameraCrisisАй бұрын
No, this is not a zoom lens. This is a prime lenses which means it’s one focal length. Look the difference between zoom and prime lenses to get a better handle on it. This lens is a 75 mm and it’s a full frame lens. When you use it on an Apsc camera, it looks like a 108mm lens which means it’s very tight. You will have to stand very far an away from the subject to get a head and shoulders picture or video. Spend some time with the kit lens and figure out what focal lengths you need before you buy a good lens.
@ztejstronymarcinАй бұрын
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thank you very much for such a quick response. I will buy a camera with a kit lens. May I ask which camera would be a better choice, the Sony ZV-E10 or the Canon R50?
@MarkBennettCameraCrisisАй бұрын
@@ztejstronymarcin Definitely the Sony. Canon has almost no lenses available for the APS-C R Mount. And I'm not sure they ever will. The Sony has dozens of lenses available.

might be good based on the video at 04:26 but 75mm is not a good ideal for tight space since the minimum focusing is 0.75m / 2' 5". And need to take consideration of lens compression too.

Lenses won’t determine lowlight performance. That’s up to the camera sensor. But the lower the f number, the better a lens will do in dark conditions. So if you’re shooting the dark, look for the lowest f number you can find - usually an f1.4
@MrArtiisan2 ай бұрын

After all these reviews of inexpensive Chinese lenses, I wonder just how good they are, longevity wise. And how can they produce lenses $400 less and even thousands of $$$ less. Not complaining, am taking advantage of the much nicer prices in this inflated world. It would be like comparing a BMW against a Fiat (Fix it Again, Tony) 500.
