The maps are way too big, i spent at least 2 matches just running around trying to find where i was supposed to go the whole time. that was the main thing for me, the learning curve of items and item creation is a thing and also a bit of a hinderance. now just too few people for match making.

Once you know too much and understand exactly what's going on it can be pretty dull, so you likely have to rely on "fun builds" and stuff. Some people do enjoy the competitive side of dbd (Ex: Otz) and still find it fun despite their 10k+ hrs.

And on a personal note. The most fun I’ve ever had on a DBD-like was Re:Resistance. Playing as Nemesis on that Game was actually strong unlike DBD’s 3 health state minor inconvenience monster. Not to mention general gameplay and having a chess-killer and a RE-gameplay survivor guaranteed my fun cause I always try to Master RE games. Also Predator gets some love if you ask me. A COD “clone” on the survivor and your classic “singleplayer hero” on the Predator side. That game was interesting and very “unpredictable”. As someone who mastered the meta. The gameplay needed to kill a noobs squad VS a team of 4 Pc players with sniper that never miss was very different. And disabling bombs as survivor to take the predator’s body was simply BADASS! Thanks to anyone who read this essay. There is fun to be had with this genera. But sadly after the Texas Massacre game comes out soon-ish there are no more DBD-likes in the horizon.

​@@ScoopsAhoySteve I don't recommend playing evil dead anytime too soon since a new update just came out meaning the player base has like tripled again. That normally would he a good thing but evil dead is incredibly killer sided if you're upgraded even a little ( theres more too it but it doesn't really matter). Anyway most killers right now are already experienced and upgraded killers who've been playing awile while the majority of survivors are new players, so it makes an already unbalanced game even more unbalanced and impossible to beat as survivor. Usually the player base goes back to normal after like a week or two and even though they take longer, those are usually the better matches. Since it's mainly more experienced survivors on after all the new players realized how unbalanced the game was and left. There's so much more to learn about the game, but it's not even worth getting good at because the developers are pretty much incompetent and never fix any actual issues, which sucks because I actually like the mechanics more than dbd. Sorry for the essay lol

1. VHS seems like a more fun DbD where it's kill or be killed instead of gen simulator all day. 2. Depth is a great game with friends. I love it for the Shark gameplay where you thrash your mouse to devour divers/seals. 3. Predator is so underrated. No micro transactions for lootboxes, has various predators/survivors from the franchise, and they have actually incorporated tech from the movies. Like mudding up to avoid predator thermal vision or the predator doing a "hee hee ha ha boomies" when it failed to hunt. (You can defuse it if you shoot/knife it's mask off and headshot it, then solve the puzzle) If timed correctly, you can perfect parry every melee attack from the predator to counter stab or have your teammates shoot while you fight him/her. Also like how instead of you only getting 2 med syringes for predator, they let u heal from eating pigs. As for the other games, I'm not so familiar with them, but the top 3 are Pradator, VHS, and Depth imo. Thx 4 the content, Steve.

Side note, the predator can do awesome stealth finishers, depending on the weapon, from behind on ai AND players, but only if players are on their 2nd or 3rd down. (White skull indicator. Can be done with/without cloak.)

How to survive the puppet master universe: Step one: Weed wacker

My favorite religion is you checking out Evil Dead The Game if you haven't already, it's a 4v1 vaguely similar to Resistance. Basically you have 4 survivors on a big ass map and 1 player is an invisible demon who spawns units and possesses stuff. It has the same food chain problem as every other asymmetrical: noobs/randoms/solos get their ass chewed up and spat out by the killer, but the killer gets their ass shredded in a blender by skilled teams who know what they're doing and utilize all the cheese, and the meta strats mainly revolve around not interacting with your opponent and just going for the objective, this applies to the demon as well (during the endgame the demon has an alternate objective). But it's still worth checking out imo and they just brought it to Steam with some new content, plus if you're new starting out you probably won't run into all that optimal sweaty stuff for a while

Pretty sure the VHS reviews are mixed because of their Valentines Day Skin scandal. I didn't really follow it since I don't follow Asymmetrical games anymore, but the Devs basically took a fan concept, put it in the game without consulting them and monetized it for a Valentines day skin, and then got blasted for it. The core gameplay itself is actually really fun for both sides. The Monster has obvious moments of Strength and Weakness just like the Teens do so it's got a pretty fun and satisfying gameplay loop, but they've had a string of faux pas and that has made them suffer a little bit

For example to kill the werewolf you need a teen that stays away from the monster so when the werewolf howls (everyone gets stunned) the teen won't be in that radius so they can come in and help the other teens. Biggest problem right now is the lack of players so it takes 10-20 minutes to find a game.

Only a not so smart player is going to start chasing around corners and long distances. Which is the exact problem of this game. One of the best ways to circumvent that was to just rat. Which they made impossible and say they don’t like. I literally downloaded the game a week ago. Loaded in as Wart, and killed all 4 teens after not playing for a year just by playing hit and run/hide and seek. Cause why wouldn’t you. Thats not fun for either side lol.

The reason Resident Evil RE:SISTANCE is unplayable is apparently due to a cheater / hacker who's ruining PC games for years who's recently discovered some exploit to bug lobbies, so public is now unplayable. I believe it's still fully playable if you want to go into public lobbies or have a console to play it on and want to pay for Resident Evil 3 again (it comes bundled with it). It's a shame because it's been going on awhile and Capcom does nothing about it.

@@lapizcata6930 They did serval incredibly dumb decisions while making the game that lead to its failure 1 is naming the game VHS before realizing they couldn’t copy right that name then switching it to Video Horror Society

Yeah I kinda ended up recording most of those games on the same night and finishing the night with Gehinnom was taking a toll on me lmao. For future parts I’m going to be recording each game on separate days just to ensure I provide the best energy to each of them
