Those are great vocals for someone of all of their age, especially Mr. Arnold, being 94 at the time of recording. Jake was around 71, Ben was around 68 and Rex was around 66. They mustve had tremendous training to sing that good in their advanced age.

Blessed to grow up listening to Uncle Robert Arnold’s high tenor. He was married to Dad’s sister Cora. Dad had eight siblings, most sang and played something. After supper they would congregate at piano and sing beautiful harmonies for hours. Dad and Uncle Robert sang together with the “Overall Quartet” for a time. Last time I visited Robert he played and sang “No Tears In Heaven”. He passed at age 98. Wonderful memories.

Honestly if the real Lazarus the brother of Mary and Martha was already in heaven, why would he be called back to live once more on this sin struck poor earth? If I were Lazarus, I would have refused to come back and say I'm happy here in heaven, I am not coming back down there. Moral point is, Lazarus was not yet in heaven but asleep in the grave. Today is 7 July, 2022. Just came across these famous quartet singer though I've been listening o Gaither's music a lot and I never get tired of this particualar singers and makes me like I'm in the audience. I haven't watched the video in years, and I couldn't figure out why they were laughing when Arthur Possan sang. I just listened to the CD again, and wondered if he made a comedic entrance. Still a joy to watch as it is to listen too. This was part of the 'Sweet, Sweet, Spirit' tour (and CD)- my favorite of the Gaither Vocal Band CD's, there are so many excellent performances.
