Miami needs to make a choice - either try to get Dame as soon as possible, or to wait if someone like Embiid or Giannis becomes availlable on the trade market next off-season. If they choose the former, they'll have no valuable assets left to use in an Embiid/Giannis trade. The latter seems the more safer option IMO since Dame would be most likely still on the table as I don't think Portland will get the offer they look from elsewhere as Dame made it know that anything else other than Miami will not suffice.

I think people got really understand that when that contract was signed, it was under the impression that the team was going to do what it takes to be a contender, you can’t fault him for wanting to leave because they went back on the agreed terms of him returning back to the team Not only that you do realize that he will be the only star in NBA history that has suspended his prime being a mentor and rebuilding. I don’t think that’s fair to him when he was very clear about what he wanted when he signed that contract and the teams switched up on him after that and now are trying to pull as if he is the one being difficult. No, you want to rebuild he doesn’t he wants to go to Miami and Miami is offering Young assets which fit the timeline of what the Blazers are trying to do, this whole they need to get the best deal possible idea just isn’t feasible if you’re trying to rebuild and trying to get Young assets nobody that is within that timeline very few are going to replace the all NBA talent like Dame. So just trade the Dude already. And that brings up another discussion that team should not be able to tell players one thing when contracts are negotiated and then do another after the contract is being signed because I guarantee if he knew that they were going to rebuild he wouldn’t have came back and this would not be a situation, so this is completely on the Blazers
