That blue piece isn't Road. It's the energy Shield he used in his vehicle mode in the first episode. It's an effect part

Balt, the dominator discs store on Wheeljack's back and the road piece plugs onto the back over where the dominator discs are stored.

Every single piece of clear plastic on this toy is a clear insert on top of an opaque piece of white plastic, and doesn't bend in any way. They'll hold up just fine. Jazz and Bee on the other hand are a little more uncertain

Hey Botmatrix, I don't know if you missed it, but bumblebee's energy rods store on Jacky's vehicle mode. They added that feature to make it more show accurate too. Sadly I don't have any of the origin figures yet. 😢 I agree that Wheeljack needs more figure love. He was my favorite character in the show and loved his G1 toy too. To bad the licenses keep him from getting his perfect original altmode. That car design is really amazing.

to get a few things out of the way; the dominator disks and the shield actually tab on the figures back in robot mode. that being a couple little pegs in the middle of the back panel for the disks, and two tabs on the top corners for the shield to plug into. also, (this is just a personal preference) i find the kibble to be very charming for this figure. i dunno, something about just puts a smile on my face. maybe i'm just more forgiving about it considering the robot mode was always designed to turn into a sports car a supposed to a box. like, the back for example, i like to imagine he's wearing that as an equipment backpack where he has all his gear stored in. which would make sense considering what you can do with him in alt-mode. also, i'm not bothered nor concerned about the clear plastic all around the figure. most of it is installed separately, and with the exception of the chest, the clear plastic has no tight tabbing connections, clear hinges, and it feels a lot more durable than it does on bumblebee. still, you that doesn't change your mind about the figure, that's totally fine with me.

Both the blades and the shield thing peg on very securely to the back. Also, it’s supposed to go on as a shield in his vehicle mode, like in the cartoon.

Them trying to keep the transformation close to the animation transformation, definitely sacrificed the robot mode into looking like a shell former of a mess.

Um I hate to say it balt but you completely misunderstood the direction on how to use the big blue wings. Not that it makes the effect really any better. But the blades peg onto the tiny pegs on either side if the peg hole on the backback. Then the blue piece goes on two little tabs on either corner of the backpack. Weird gimmick aside it's atleast storage for the pieces in robot mode.

The shortest Voyager class that i know of. But i like him, all the panel folding is repetitive. Im glad that we finally get a figure of his Cybertron mode in the 40th anniversary year.

I absolutely LOVE this Wheeljack! I love the transformation, the alt, and bot modes. My only issue is his poseability. Because of the kibble, his poseability is very limited. He is a CHONK! But he's just so damn cool! Awesome review, as always!

This wheeljack is fun. Kind of wish he didn’t have the Bumblebee gimmick, so he wouldn't be completely hallow. Otherwise, love the vehicle mode. He'll most likely stay in vehicle mode.

I love the way g1 wheeljack looks in vehicle mode I have a complaint with this figure and that's how much panel use there is like why can't Hasbro made a g1 remake figure that doesn't use so many panels it's not hard

They did that as to replicate that scene in the show. And yes they had their earth mode robot forms befor they even went to earth. Even though their altmodes didn't match. In the end Hasbro did it because that detail would sell more figures over all. Fans of the G1 would probably would have been less enthused if they hadn't. It's all about nostalgia grabbing than taking artistic liberties just because they could.

Balt, the gun is different to the ones ER Wheeljack comes with. This one is more cartoon accurate. Similar to the MP one.

Did you actually look at the instructions? There are tabs on back panel for the wings. Lame gimmick but it is there. Also on the back panel are two posts for the disk/fans and the weapon is not the same from Earthrise. You aren’t normally this much of a mess.

@@baltmatrix don’t I know it. Add on a bit of the autism spectrum and PTSD from military service and I get it. This has to be one of my absolute favorite toys this year.
