The thing about the Pro, is that it doesn’t matter if Sony did some kind of showcase for it. Only way people would be able to tell a difference is if they just allowed people to see it on a premium TV. It’s no different than the issue they ran into with the PS4 Pro. Same thing Microsoft had with the One X. For those in tune with Playstation, of course they’d notice the difference, even on a compressed KZbin video. And that’s the audience that is targeted. Can you explain to me why you like rebirth so much? I don't have nostalgia for the game but i loved remake. Rebirth to me just seemed like there was nothing important happening, it was doing a festival, going to the beach, doing a random mine dungeon because the way was blocked off. @@timkerkemeiker9791Even with the original game, there are people who loved the opening section for its narrative beats & the quality of its environments but didn’t enjoy the less attractive open world and meandering story telling of the Rebirth/midsection of the game. On the other hand, there are people like me who enjoyed this section more. I enjoyed the sensation of escaping the oppressive & restricting opening of Midgar. Going on a journey and learning about the characters, it was my favourite section of the game. I think that is still reflected in these two games & different people with different tastes may react in similar ways. That said the tone of the two games is also very different. Remake: narrative driven, Serious game with goofy moments. Rebirth: open, character exploration, Goofy game with slightly serious moments. FF7 1997 was a game about life and death. Rebirth feels very much like the “Life” part of that equation. Spending time with friends, references to enjoying the time you have whilst you can, stoping to smell the roses, having your fun, floating on the breeze etc. For some of us with nostalgia who love the characters, it’s a joy seeing them out enjoying life and the world before shit hits the fan at the end of Rebirth & going into part 3 (which I expect will focus more on the nature of death and wrapping up the story).

It was definitely worth the upgrade for me, especially for VIIR & Spider-Man, and PS5 game with Dynamic Resolution. KZbin really doesn't do the game justice though, especially in the HDR department as lot of vids I've noticed, even my own, aren't uploading in HDR. Anyway, if you're going to watch gameplay of it on here at least find yourself a 4K vid with HDR. Even then though you're still dealing with some serious compression. When I saw Kalm for the first time in game, I was almost brought to tears with how good the game looked.

No, you can tell its been upscaled. The main problem is there is too much pssr going on because the internal resolutional is too low. Takes some eye adjusting at first because your brain knows the transition between frames is approximated. It's fake. 4K has better fidelity. Performance mode should be less blurry by now

I can suggest playing the original PS1 game first, then Crisis Core (or watch a playthrough), then Remake (then the Intergrade DLC) and then Rebirth. Most of this is really just Unreal Engine 5 and the "all-in-one" nature of game engines nowadays, which leads to a lot of overhead on top of overhead in the pursuit of flexibility (meaning "can be used to make any type of game"). UE5 is stupidly heavy for this reason. Before, every dev had their own in-house engine built specifically for the types of games they create, and didn't have to worry about making it usable for anyone else or for any other type of game. But now that graphics are getting so complicated, a lot of dev studios simply don't have the talent/resources to keep up their own engine tech so they switch to UE, and inherit all the problems of UE lol

No Joke the Pro was worth every penny. Is $699 expensive? Yes! However, after you sell your base PS5 (I got $350 for my physical edition), then it's about $350, more if you want the disk drive. Now my games run at crystal clear 4k image quality (mostly) at 60fps and it's also WHISPER quiet. My PS5 still had some fan noise but this thing is dead silent no matter what I play.

Honestly I am interested in PS5 Pro, but so far I have been playing this game in graphic mode with 60fps because there is a mode on my TV that increases fps from 30fps to 60fps. So if versatile mode is only an improvement from graphic mode but 60fps without any other improvements, does that mean I have been indirectly playing this game in versatile mode on ps5, right?

What you are saying is simply impossible. VRR that you have improves perfomance if the game is running below 60 fps, lets say is losing 10 to 12 frames. Graphics mode runs at 30 fps and there is no software on this planet to make it ran at 60 fps.

Even this tv actually can't 120fps, but there is a mode that can play ps5 games to 120fps but the resolution is locked at 1080p.

Most likely, your TV is doing some kind of interpolation to achieve "smooth motion" or some brand name for interpolation. This means it sorta generates frames between frames coming from your PS5, effectively doubling the frame rate. The effectiveness of this varies per TV, often resulting in variable frame rates and also visual artifacts (because the TV is essentially doing it's best to guess the in-between frame, these in between frames can look kinda funky, though bear in mind there are often undetectable to the naked eye). For you, this could be totally fine, but I have tendency to see the stutter that comes from generated frames and I'm even more likely to see the visual artifacts. What's often worse, though, is that this process where your TV is essentially creating and inserting frames between the "real" frames takes time, and that usually means the TV will delay the time it takes for image to get from the PS5 to your TV, so it has time to slip those TV-generated frames in between, and this will result in input latency. Again, people's sensitivity to any one of these caveats will differ. I don't use that stuff. Don't like it, but if it doesn't both you or take out of the game, enjoy your game and enjoy saving $700 bucks. Side note: Modern upscaling tech like DLSS (Nvidia) and FSR (AMD) also have "frame generation" as a newer feature, that does a kinda sorta similar thing to your TV but in a more efficient, and gamer friendly way, where the generated frames should be less noticeable and get generated at such a rate that input lag is a non-factor, but even then these technologies don't really work well with 30 FPS right now. It's much better at boosting something like a native 60 FPS to a 120+ FPS output via "Frame Generation".

Btw, i think Sony/PS should change their Game and make it so we get a new Console Gen every 5 Years from now on. Instead of an PS5 Pro, we should get an PS6. Meaning... they should have waited another Year and called it PS6. It could have a better CPU too if they did that with 3D V-Cache. For the same Price or bit lower even (650 Dollars). BUT the PS5 should be there too still selling nebst the PS6 for cheaper. And all Games for the PS6 should be available for the PS5 too until they launch PS7 in another 4-5 Years from that. PS could tell Devs then... if you want you can still launch PS7 Games on the PS5 but you NEED to for PS6 still as well as the PS7. I hope i make Sense with what i mean by that. This would make a Console Generation available for 8-10 Years... at least. Thats... long enough imo. Because right now its honestly only 7 Years +. After that you may or may not need the new Console. You are not for sure guaranteed that the new Game for PS5 still runs or is available on PS4 right now. With my Idea you would at least get an Guarantee that even though you are on the one Gen lower Console... you still will be able to get the Game. But the Drawback is that the Console Gen lasts not as long... but 2 Gens last bit longer than one in Comparison. + you could sell the new Gen for more Dollars but the older one could get cheaper. Like lets say 650 for the new one but the old one gets to 450, a Year later you make the new one 550 and the other one 400. (Something like that. I am not an Market Analyzer. Just saying that would make Sense imo.) We are now in a Time period where Computers are lasting longer than like... 30-15/10 Years ago. These Days you basically can play with an good CPU/GPU forever. And Consoles are not different in this Regard. Mark Cerny is an highly intelligent Human but i think he needs to understand that Consoles now can last forever too and we wont get a new Gen that does something very new every Gen is possible anymore as it was back then (as he said in his Road to PS5 back then) (I know they dont literally last forever but a few Years longer for sure). What matters these Days Way more imo is... Software. And that means Drivers and Programms like PSSR too of course. Or the Engine the Game runs on. UE 5 is a great Engine but it has Issues. If Epic can resolve some of them and Sony/SE implements Fixes for their Games you can easily see 10FPS increase or just like that an even better Image. Right now we have a Gen that last for around 7 Years and after that a new Gen emerges that will take over. The old Gen MAY and certainly WILL be supported a little bit longer but you just never have an Guarantee on how long... 1 Year? 3 Years? All Games certainly not. Some have to be System Sellers right...? With my Idea you would have the Guarantee as Consumer that you are fine for 8-10 Years on your Console at least. They dont have to literally ko the old Console after that either. But... yeah. At some Point they want you to move on. I think thats understandable. Anyways, i think they should look into this. A PRO Console is nice to have but its just a Pro. Imo its a bit of a Waist for everyone. I would prefer if they would have made a new Gen next Year with bit better GPU but WAY better CPU. It would not have cost Sony more really since they would have gotten better Deals from TSMC (AMD) too. (And yes, they could sell the PS5 Pro for 600 too and still make a bit of Money) Well... we an hope this happens sooner than later. It would be better for everyone, including Sony.

@@makasete30 ps5 has a console migration thing in the settings. as long as you connect the 2 consoles to the same network/router, they can detect each other and transfer everything, games, saves and even settings. Took mine about 20 min to transfer everything to the pro.

I was an early PS4 Pro adopter and enjoyed the benefits on my 4K TV. As great as the experience was, I'm not currently equipped (no OLED high refresh rate TV) to get the full benefit of the PS5 Pro, further making the $700 cost hard to swallow. I'll likely have a nice OLED by the time GTA6 releases; that's when I'll likely take the plunge. Hopefully, Rockstar will release some sort of showcase that highlights the upgrades the game will have on the Pro too.

@@productjoe4069 My criticism is about the recent surge of LLM and other prompt-based AI. The stuff that turns on techbros, executive jerks and wall street speculators. Main differences to me: upscalers like pssr do not replace a human artist, they improve on a purely technical step of frame generation. They are not trained on stolen data. And they are a more energetically/informationnaly efficient than alternatives (like trying to generate directly 4k pictures without upscaling)

Ok. Maybe what you're saying would make sense if someone literally just bought a PS5. But for most people who bought theirs 3-4 years ago you're wrong. We already got our money's worth out of the base PS5 with thousands of hours of entertainment. @@Sayishere Just look at Linus building a Pro destroyer PC with used parts. He failed. You wont get a better PC for that money now, although you could possibly get that if you buy it at the time when Rebirth finally comes out on PC, especially if it takes as long as it did for Remake. Still it's going to cost to get the "objectively better version" because you can't just be around the Pro's performance, you need to be significantly higher to actually be better and to deal with some worse optimization. I wouldn't make any general suggestion to anyone. If you don't have a lot of money it makes sense to wait, if you don't have a great TV it doesn't make sense upgrading regardless, but if you have money there's no need to make life more boring so you can just sit on it.
