I'm visiting every town in NC - Shelby, North Carolina

I grew up in and around Shelby and remember when the JC Penney, Sears, A&P and Winn Dixie were all Uptown and where you went to do all your shopping. Then came the KMart, Walmart and the Cleveland mall, all out on Hwy 74. That basically killed Uptown for decades. It seems to be making a bit of a comeback. Nice to see.

I'll never forget many local church Pastor saying Shelby would go to ruin by passing Liquor by the drink. But turns out it made the town even better.

Drove though Shelby downtown the other day and was impressed. Cute little small town.

Shelby NC is one of the greatest Towns in NC or anywhere. Great people, eating places, park very good Police Force. It always growing in a positive way. I'm really waiting for them complete the Harmony Trail. The only negative point would no real Bike lanes.
