I'm Worried About GTA 6 Online..

Rockstar games has an amazing trackrecord when it comes to making great single players games, but when it comes to the online portion. There are definitely a more rocky history. In this video I go over some of the concerns I have, but I hope to be proven wrong when GTA 6 Online launches next year.

We’re all getting GTA VI. It’s a given. But if GTAO2 is going to be like GTAO, I hope it fizzles out. They can not be reducing payouts, increasing the down time between missions, increasing prices of in game purchases and removing content to be placed behind a paywall. It’s criminal. I work 50+ hours a week and don’t plan on blowing my money on Shark cards, and don’t plan on treating Online as a full time job. I just want to have fun with friends. Truly hoping for a GTA IV style Classic Freemode.

Yeah, doing multiple heist runs, farming businesses and such ain't worth much for a 1 million for a basic car that everyone drives in real life or such (an old Blista cost more then the Blista from base game), all vehicles other than Supers, aircrafts, boats, open wheels and such are way overpriced and I hate those who justify the pricing (You cannot do one or two heist for one car, you buy loads of base game Vigero then just buy one Vigero ZX out the money you earn), so yeah

The recent GTA Online update basically added locked dripfeed content for 4 weeks - 2 vehicle robberies, new races, and the clucking bell heist. And this was a small update. I think that I can see Rockstar making 5-6x bigger updates for GTA VI Online, and that would leave us with A LOT of content at launch, as well as something new each week for about half a year - until the next update.

GTA6’s online would have to be significantly delayed from at least six months to a couple of years in order to have a proper steady stream of content flowing into GTA6 Online consistently right out the gate. Like filming a whole season of a TV show in advance so they can release it weekly but with GTA6 Online DLC Updates in order retain the consistent long term player engagement to avoid any massive content update dry spells that usually causes massive Playerbase churn spikes otherwise it’s always going to be a problem that R* like other Game Publishers has to deal with..

Why does the focus have to be always be on online play and the online community? I really hope that for GTA 6, they give equal emphasis on people who want to play story mode (i.e., offline). The same vehicles, apartments, businesses and other things that are available to online players should be available to the offline story characters as well (how cool would it have been for Franklin to manage an import/export garage, for example?). In the beginning of course we'll all hopefully be playing through the main offline story mode and exploring the huge map they've created, but I really hope that (and want) Rockstar to realize that offline players deserve just as much TLC as the online community does.

One the one hand they will have learned what players want from GTA5, but on the other hand GTA5 also will have shown them with what they can get away. As a PC player I have some time to watch the launch madness anyways, but even when (if) it comes to PC, I´ll wait a couple of month to see what is happening. I never thought that GTA or RDR Online had predatory microtransactions. I, along with many other players have obtained pretty much everything in the game without ever participating in any microtransactions, all the DLCs have been free and all items obtainable through gameplay. From my understanding, they haven't even locked cosmetics behind paywalls, everyone could earn everything.

RDO with gold bars is very predatory. 25% of the items in the game were only buyable with gold and considering there is no reliable way of making gold apart from daily objectives which a. was incredibly boring logging in every single day for 5 minutes to 1 objective to keep your streak, it felt more like a chore than it did fun in any way. and b. it was nerfed to the ground so we are back to square one, with NO RELIABLE way to earn some (unless you like making 0.01 bars after a 10 minute deathmatch)

My fear of GTA VI online is all content will be available but an additional online pass to play will have to be purchased. Similar to a Playstation Plus system. 3 different tiers like essential, extra, & premium. All having a certain amount of time until they expire. All account info saved to cloud storage. Idk what the price would be but I don't think it'd be as expensive as Playstation Plus type of passes but I could see this as being constant support of the game. I honestly wouldn't put it past Take Two either.

Dan Houser leaving the company was some pretty obvious writing on the wall about the sort of disputes that must have been going on behind closed doors at R⭐. Im hoping for the best but we'll see. I'll be getting the game for single player and if online is any good thatll be a bonus as far as im concerned. Realistically I think Rockstar opened a can of worms with how theyve handled GTA Online and I dont see them doing anything to make players happy that would compromise maximization of profits. They are so going to use FOMO with GTA Online 2. They removed 200 cars from the current GTA online and made those 200 cars appear randomly in the Vinewood Car thingy, FOR NEXT GEN ONLY. So PC players are forced to either cheat their way to these cars, trade them thru discord, or not have them at all.

GTA+ is about to get way worse without any doubt. But regardless of all the micro transaction fears, I am beyond excited to get my hands on any new Rockstar title, big or small. And I am part of the problem when it comes to micro transactions simply because life and work. I don’t have time these days to throw at the game so if there is something cool that I would like to have and it costs $20 instead of 12 hours of play time, 9 times out of 10 I will pay for it. Yeah, I'm not holding my breath in regards to what kinds of monetization we'll see in GTA 6. I think I speak for a lot of us when I say I'm beyond tired of every Triple A title that's released since Fortnite coming standard with Battle Passes, Item Shops, premium currency, and various other schemes meant to keep gullible suckers spending money on a game they already burned 70 bucks on. Why would rockstar create a competing gta online? They already have gta online. GTA 6 could possibly be just a single player game. Rockstar wouldn’t kill their golden goose. Besides think of the backlash if they shut down current gta online? Lots of people spent A LOT of money on shark cards.

They do with previous nba 2ks every year and people sends hundreds on that game every year I don't think they'll shut it down there just won't be anymore dlcs that'll probably be the start of modding because they'll stop securing gta 5 online and focus on gta 6 they done it with gta online for Xbox 360 and ps3 before they eventually shut down the servers

GTA:6 online will be DOA unless they do character transfers from GTA:5 online, not letting people transfer over their progress is a sign that they’re wanting to hook the whales they’ve gotten already again relying on the idea of “progression” instead of making compelling content.

No, transfers would not only make the game boring and stale quicker cause you will just have everything you already had previously, but unfair to those who wanna fresh start.. Imagine transferring your shit and day 1 of GTA 6 Online we already have Oppressor MK3 spams again. Fuck that. Rockstar need to make NOTHING transfer and limit what content comes from GTA 5 to GTA 6 so it feels like a fresh experience, otherwise why play a new game just continue playing GTA 5 online....
