I have been doing KZbin Shorts last six months, and what helped me the most was that I found out that you can give your videos (even the long ones) the initial dose of views and likes (I am mostly using a little bit of Famester for this, just because of the fact that I never had any kind of problem with it. There is no violation of terms whatsoever). This way you are always one step ahead of the algorithm.

Keep in mind, the RPM is increasing (rapidly?). When i got monetized in July, i got 0,10$ rpm on shorts. 2 months later and it is 0,12 - 0,15$. You can do the math. Now imagine what he would have done with the current rpm. I'm guessing about 4x the amount than shown in the video
