Sometimes the biggest mistakes you’ll make in your dividend portfolio aren’t from doing the wrong things, like investing in a low quality dividend stock, but from not doing the right things, like letting high quality, discounted dividend stocks pass you by. And I believe that I made that BIG mistake with the dividend growth monster we're talking about in this video.

I had an opportunity to buy into to $KO at $52...missed that, bought 10 shares of $pep at $160, wish now i would have bought more. Missed out on $GS at $290. Missed out on $MA when it below $370.

I made the same mistake with Amazon, just because it doesn't pay dividends, I didn't buy when it was at $82 sometime last year. Look at it now.

Oh wow how come certian ppl with certian service providers hear about investing in companies when the are new but other ppl.never hear about these investment opportunities at all just the ads to buy from them like a consumer

Eh, I've always invested anything extra outside of my safety net. Leaves me without any real mistakes by omission 🤷‍♀️ the joys of starting at extreme poverty i guess

For what it’s worth… I identified COST as a stock I would like to own and it fit all of my metrics except everyone said it was too expensive…. That was at $494 per share….. as history has it, I started my position anyway and now it’s over $800 per share. To me, if I identify a good stock and the only thing missing is the price, I DCA and get started because there is no guarantee it ever hits your target price!

ORLY for me Ryne. Worked there and considered investing at about $45 a share. It’s a smidge or two over that these days.

I bought Meta and sold it for a small profit when the stock price was just under $120. Should have held it and buy more.

Valuation ratings on SA are bad for zts. They are a market leader so it makes sense they have a high PE. You could even make the case for UNH or CAH in place of ZTS. I think most healthcare stocks are gonna be expensive at the moment. Once the market swings out of healthcare it should create a buying opportunity.

Nice self-reflection in this video, Ryne. It sounds like a bit of analysis paralysis. I know there needs to be some research, but I'd ask the community at large, how much is too much? I see comments about people studying the CEO, looking at balance sheets from 2010, etc 😆 How much is too much?

Thank you! And that's a great question to ask. I'd imagine it's going to differ for everyone, but at least for me, I should go through the comprehenive process I have set up in my Investors Almanac tool. I should at least commit to doing that before pulling the trigger on a stock moving forward. If I go through that process, and everything checks out, I think the stock is fair game to add from there.

Hello Ryne, Excellent video and yes, sometimes we can move to slow and they get away.. sometimes we move too quickly and catch a dagger. It's simply the price we pay to play in the markets. One thing to remember is to avoid looking back at the shoulda wouda. Before I buy any stock I always check the charts, RSI and the data. Keep up the great content.

I missed on MAIN back in May of 2020😭. I bought it then sold quick cause I was all over the place back then but if I would have kept buying and held I would have done well long term. All good though you live and you learn. Great video Ryne!

It isn’t the first time MAIN goes down. It has a stable dividend, good growth. If they were in trouble then they wouldn’t pay out the coming special dividend. They are fine. The market is just overreacting. Just look at Hercules. They took even even harder hit. Same with Allianz SE and Munich RE despite reporting record numbers.

Watchlist stocks can soar, and I left Williams-Sonoma on mine, too. ☹ But there will always be other opportunities, right?!
