For the lenses, you could also use black sunglasses for the lenses if they’re big enough.

This is actually a fantastic idea! you could use it even as an armature so you could make a mold to cast a resin one or something

Just stumbled across this, fantastic job! The rougher texture lends itself to an ANH style helmet. Add the widows peak, smaller lower vent and red lenses and it would look unreal!

This is awesome stuff. You are really talented. I wonder if theres a coating you can use to the get the finish even smoother? I know cardboard is a porous material so it has some challenges. But I wonder for something as glossy as Vaders helmet, if you can coat it with 2k Clear or Future Floor Wax?

Also, have you ever tried gluing a layer of cereal box cardboard shiny side up over some of the flatter sections on your helmets/armor plates? It could help further hide the corrugation without needing as much spackle and sanding.

As a Vader Cosplayer, I’m very impressed with this video. Your idea of the lenses is actually very smart. I might try that method. Then I would need transparent paint and eye mesh. Thank you for this idea.
