In this case, obviously the lead one will hit the ground first, the regular one will just flutter around! This is due to atmospheric drag, which is linearly related to density of the fluid, not the object. It's not worth explaining, but buoyant forces from water can also exemplify this (note: air also exerts a bouyant force on us, it is in fact a fluid). The key here is about terminal velocities, which the normal feather reaches almost immediately, and the lead one likely does not reach during it's entire descent. So, the important thing to clarify here is: are the balls identical in every way except mass? Also potentially, how long are they falling for? If yes to the first one, the heavier ball is 10x denser, and thus will require more time to reach terminal velocity (connecting to the second question). If neither reach terminal velocity, then I'm fairly certain they will reach the ground at the same time. However, if the lighter one does reach terminal velocity first, then it should hit the ground later, since the heavier one will still continue to speed up until it's air drag equals it's weight. However in a vacuum, there is no terminal velocity (except maybe light)! So there we would see something more similar to what we're taught in intro mechanics! Am I saying, "this object will reach the ground first", or "this object will get faster, faster"? Air resistance is mostly affected by how big the object is, and how large is the surface. If it is given that 2 identical object has same volume, same shape and surface then air resistance must be the same, but this is most definitely a trick question to bait.

Which is the very reason why a 100kg ball fall at the same speed as a 10kg ball, because it needs 10 times for force to move as fast as the light one. (Which gravitational force provides since it also scale by weight) So the air resistance is the same, but the resulting acceleration would be different.

@@Lyfalda yeah but i don't think air resistance scales with the object weight, it is a force that happen when something move in the air and it scales on how much the object collides with the air based on the surface of the object and the wind direction too. No matter how heavy it is, and the given objects are in the shame shape with same volume, for example 2 balls, in the same situation will hit the ground at the same time

@@Saturlen EXACTLY, the force of the air resistance does not scale with the weight of the object. Which is why the acceleration due to air resistance does scale with weight. While on the contrary, acceleration from gravity doesnt scale with weight because its force scale with weight. At least thats how I see it. And if air resistance is indeed written as a force, then the math checks out. Since acceleration = force / weight So higher weight means less acceleration. In the case of a ball dropping, its a deccelaration but thats the same thing anyway.

A suggestion for the number off. Why not send both players a random number between 1-100 of your choosing and have them guess whether the opposing players number is higher or lower. Wrong guesses remove currency or items and correct guesses give currency, but no items. Love the content btw :D
