I cant get over how beautiful this dress is. The rain made it even more beautiful, it almost aged the "metal" effect and gave it battle damage.

Oh man, the exaggerated shoulder, the waist pleating, the gloves…I don’t know what is most inspiring. I thought it was a bold choice to use one single fashion fabric to achieve the texture of the armor but it showcases the construction’s elegance so beautifully. Chef’s kiss ❤️

I love how your videos are such a contrast to many other youtubers I've seen who focus on snappy transitions and filling every second of the video with a voice over. Your emphasis on a slow, methodical process is so much more realistic and makes me feel much better about how long my own sewing process takes me. I'll definitely be checking out your patreon and I would love to see more behind the scenes of how you plan and document your sewing processes before getting into to mockup stage and even how long a project like this takes you on average. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work and talent with us! :)

The tailoring is exquisite. The blue-silver sheen of the material is also doing a very important job of looking like metal. I prefer clothes with "good bones" like the dress shown in this video. I am not a very good tailor, but I do enjoy thrifting then reno-ing garments. It can be such an amazing discovery when sequins, ruffles, ribbons are removed to undercover a classic piece that will be treasured and used.

The dress is simply stunning, I love the fabric you chose for it, it certainly gives it a metallic look! On first glance it looks like sheet metal that should be uncomfortable to wear but when you move and the dress moves with you it almost seems like the metal is molten and floating around you, especially the skirt. Fantastic work, thank you for sharing the making of it :)

The finished dress is absolutely magical! 🤩 The fabric flows so beautifully, it’s like metal transmogrified. Your design reminds me of the mainstream historicism fads in the early 1890s (separate from, but probably inspired by the Aesthetic/Reform movements). It also brings to mind the interesting dresses worn for costume parties-some were very literal (such as an 1890s illustration of a “wastepaper basket” dress!), and others were more abstract and conceptual (there’s another illustration of a gambling-themed dress called “Monte Carlo,” of contrasting red and black satin trimmed with coins and playing cards). If you ever get the chance to time travel and attend an 1890s costume ball, I am confident your armor dress would fit right in!

I've seen armor dresses before, but yours far surpasses those. All the layers, the pleats, the sculpting, the corset, the mock ups, the gazillion pattern pieces, the gloves...Yes, with all of that, you achieved your goal. What I love most is that the dress somehow looks rigid and sculpted but also fluid and drapey. Not an easy effect to achieve! I'm so glad you are now on Patreon! I'll see you there.

The dress is incredible. It really looks like armor while also looking flowy which is a bit mind boggling because this is not an adjective I thought I would associate with armour. The sleeves are great with the pleats under the shoulder piece. The darts on the bodices also add a lot. This is really impressive and it was really interesting to see more of the drafting process.

okay so i just wanted to tell you that this video created such a safe space for me. Currently I am in a moment of my life when I am healing from a quite traumatic relationship with my mother, because of which I stopped enjoying any conventionally "feminine" hobbys. I am recovering, opening up for creating more relationships with women as well, and videos like that just make me happy and excited again to be a girl - thank you very much for that (and im not saying that sewing is reserved for women only ofc, its just that when I see girls sewing, for some reason it brings me some comfort???). Also, the amount of time and thought you had to put into creating that dress is truly incredible. Its breathtaking!!!

I can hardly express how happy it made me to see the fashion fabric you used. That is my favorite fabric in the world, and when I was young and used to go to cosplay conventions, I made so many costumes out of that stuff. I still have pieces of old cloaks sitting around as throws on my bed. I love the drape and the weight of it more than any other type of fabric I've found, but it is hard to find this stuff in a thicker weight now, and in colors other than pastels, here in the USA. I absolutely love the color you chose.

Frieda, This is the most glorious Armor/ Gown imaginable! Seriously, such an incredible design. Your imagination is beautiful and your talent meets your imagination so wonderfully. I am glad to have been shown a bit of the tedious work that goes into this. With your different piles of pattern tries, mockup materials that needed re done. I think people think if you have your type of talent, it just comes easily. Not realizing, you put in a lot of hard work and time! I found it fascinating, to see you putting together the different elements you liked from different pieces and styles of Armor. To see you really transform fabrics to represent the details in the metal, was magical! I too am amazed when a cos player take foam and other random item's, then turn it into something that looks like a completely different. It is quite awesome and magical. When I see you take your idea and put it on paper, then onto a plain fabric that is pinned and stitched into a shape! It's during this process I start to see something beautiful emerge, then it goes onto a magnificent perfectly chosen, type and color of fabric, it's awe inspiring! It's an amazing type of art that I get to watch. Like watching a sculpture, painter, and composer all in one! It's a glorious design, beautiful Gown, inspired by detailed Armor❤ It's a spectacular 🎉 So well done, Frieda. I truly enjoyed the way you filmed this. I liked the length very much. I could say so much more, but this is ridiculously long 😊 With sincere respect and joy, Audri

This is so stunning! You certainly succeeded at creating the look of armor with just fabric. I especially love the look of segmented armor plates around the waist. As someone who has strayed away from armor cosplays (despite my love of the character designs in Baldur's Gate), this was incredibly inspiring. I genuinely feel that even if I don't have the skills for armor making with foam or chain, I can make it work with the skills I do have.

I love this so much!! Thank you for doing this (crafting/making, filming and providing the video for streaming). Something like this was on my mind for many years.

I love this! I have saved so many reference photos of fabric pieces that look like armor so I was very excited to see this video pop-up.
