Not the only word that reminds me of toki pona. ‹nogă› seems to be inspired from toki pona ‹noka›, foot-leg. ‹rukă› from ‹luka› hand-arm. ‹sonă› from ‹sona›, know. ‹sunə› from ‹suno›, sun. ‹munə› from ‹mun›, moon. Funny that ‹air› means ‹water›. ‹ma› from toki pona ‹ma›, earth. ‹maüñ› from ‹majuna›, old. ‹as› to mean ‹bottom› - nice. ‹poca› from toki pona ‹poka›, side. ‹pona› from ‹pona›, good. ‹sama› from ‹sama›, same.

Okay, I started classifying things as toast, sandwiches, salads, or soups in my head using the definitions in this video, and now I have a question: does a pig in a blanket count as a hotdog because of the hotdog in the middle? Or does being wrapped in dough make it a sandwich instead? What about koloches, which use real sausages instead? Does the hotdog gender extend to all sausages? How much hotdog has to be in something before you can refer to it using the hotdog gender? Wait- Does this gender only refer to hotdogs in hotdog buns? You must’ve brought up the sandwich debate for a reason… if it does, would that mean that a hotdog without a bun would be toast? A sandwich because of the casing?? A salad because everything in the casing had to be ground up into lots of little pieces first??? Well done! You broke my brain. This language is excellently cursed; I never thought I would ask if a hotdog is a salad, especially because of a video that specifically categorized hotdogs as its own thing. this is great, but i think it might have a bit of missed potential. right now it seems like the only thing that's about the diacritics is the writing system, but i think you may have been able to go further. Imagine if each word was just one phoneme, but the specific way the diacritics messed with it was what told you the meaning? maybe the base phoneme you pick is arbitrary, and that's why it isn't written?

The fact that this could be a legit language. Anyone researching it would probably use the following terms with full seriousness, and any native speaker might do one or two things differently (if this weren't the case, it wouldn't be a cursed language). *Prefix Noun Marking:* _Cases_ - nominative, accusative, genitive, (adjective position marking might be treated separately) _Genders_ - homogenous, layered, faceted, fluid (includes containers) *Suffix Noun Marking:* _Size/Derivation_ - minute, general, large (the base size may be compared to different things by different researchers. In the supposed population being researched, there may be a common object that is used as a base unit of measurement) _Genders 2_ - inert/neuter, animate, neuter luminous, bio-luminous (notes would be made on usage if gender asexual persons/queer/non-reproductive individuals referred to in a different way compared to reproductive individuals) *Verb Mood* (I'm assuming the alignments is what the subject feels about the action taking place, e.g. CE-"to go" ~ "should not go but goes") _- what the speaker thinks about the execution of the action._ _- what the speaker thinks about the outcome of the action._ *Orthography* - The diacritics would be seen as letters and punctuation symbols (and probably even given their own slots in Unicode) - Consonants might have names that reference the vowels that make them up to help remember them. They may be produced differently depending on whether they are initial or final, e.g /r/ might become /l/, and /c/ might become /ʔ/. The alphabet could look like: ä, i, u, ö a, e, ë, o ñäañ, räel, fäëf, käok, çiaç, jiej, niën, xiox, buab, muem, ŋuëŋ, suos pöap, töet, cöëc, göog (I used different accented vowels for those I can't type) *Writing* Writing might be simplified way more, unfortunately, likely going top-down right-left, with spaces used to separate stacks (words). Lefty nouns might have their adjectives separated from them and placed before, with someone coming up with some semi-plausible reason why.
@wynnexed5 күн бұрын
wow! i don't know what to say to this but it's incredible, thank you! all things considered, i could probably make a more fully-fledged actual language out of this concept, and I love some of the ideas for how it might become more realistic, especially making the alignments into a sort of evidentiality system, which i never thought about doing
