Good day, Mr. Coconut! I participated in my first invasion last night and it was pretty brutal. We had a follower accidentally gank the scout so we didn't get the info. Alas... first fail. So the invasion comes and the mini-bosses are tanky as hell! We finally kill the first wave and some of the mining and gathering tribesmen that were out just doing their thing had been killed. Second fail. Then the second wave comes and they aren't too bad except for the elite boss. She just kept healing herself back to half no matter what we did. There were two of us players defending plus Stabby McStabbers the Scout Murdering follower. That priestess cleaned our clocks! She seemed immune to bleeds and didn't appear to adhere to any of the standard rules, like gracefully dying like she should have to two decently geared players in iron armor. So we decide to regroup inside the gate of the base. She tries to follow us in and I lure her on to the spike traps laid out. Well lo and behold! She died on them. She takes damage from that, but barely any from our weapons. I was just befuddled. Anyway, the log says we failed. Not sure why. We killed everybody except the priestess who died to spikes. I suspect we failed because we didn't get the killing blow on her. So that's my invasion story. Yes, defenses are necessary. If you figure out the mechanics of the invasions, I would love a video about how it all works. Thanks for the good content :)

Those invasions are no joke and was completely unprepared for one. They guys were like 10 levels higher than me, but I did manage to deter one of them for a decent fighter.

I've made some extremely long corpse runs as I was dumb and dropped a campfire without protecting it from the rains. I've also carried a llama from the wetlands back to the rainforest, though packs of wolves and panthers. That wasn't too bright, as I should have build a mini shelter to tame it in place. Has anyone had issues where you have a tribesman in tow and you're fast running through a high level area on a mount. Then at some point you have a lot of agro chasing you and your tribesman pops in front of you, causing the agro to catch and knock you off your mount (also getting destroyed)? Wish that when tribesman teleported to your position that it wasn't in front of you. They should always teleport a little behind you, to prevent this kind of shenanigans from happening.

Same I've had some VERY long runs. I was running the first ancient ruins dungeon, and my llama died from standing on a stupid trap, and dropped all 1k weight of loot. So I had to book it back to my base with my tribesman inventory full, and book it back to the dungeon I made it back to the llama loot bag with about 90 seconds to spare before it would have despawned. My base was a 12 min run away or so.

ive got a red elite lama and i love that thing, carries 1500 lbs and with the right saddle it will carry either an unconscious person or 4 trapped animals.

Alpaca= Donkey. Llama= Horse. 😄 I got bored before I got raided, I made a suspended base but that would mean your tribesmen would also get stuck unable to get in or out their own because of their path finding.

Last night I made the mistake of leaving the game running to AFK craft stacks of cloth of EXP. I woke up this morning to every single one of my storage chests gone, and ofc all the loot despawned. Every singe one. Fortunately I had some valuble items and good gear in my player inventories. But I perma-lost everything that was in my chests.... Yeah you best believe I'll be building better defenses, and also not leaving the game to run AFK

The alpaca is slightly faster than the llama, but llama is way more versatile.

Adding to that, llama can't jump, but higher rarity ones are so big they just autostep smaller obstacles. You can also quick dismount from llamas when it's sprinting and there's someone (unconscious) on the extended seat, so I like to grab a random outcast for that purpose when I'm going anywhere dangerous. Note that you can add mods to mount armor and it rarely ever loses durability, so it's safe to grind out a red one and mash in one of each lv3 you have. It might save your pet, or just make you get harassed less by boars because of concealment and sound mods.

Llamas are a bit better than Alpaca's. But a white baby Llama is a legendary Llama. They will be 3 times the size of the Alpaca and carry like 1500kg on them with a legendary saddle. I use my "Big Mama" legendary Llama to carry building mats and for clearing dungeons. Quick trips I prefer the Jaguar for their speed.

We got a double invasion and it was crazy hard. It took them like one min to get through our stone barriers and walls. They caused mayhem and destroyed a few barbarians. We had 2 invasion leaders and they were so tanky. It took all of us to slowly widdle them down. It was a mess

When you build a patrol marker, when you access it you see a meter and I think that when it's full you get invaded.

I just started and I'm a little afraid of invasions, but I don't know when does these start happening? Is there a trigger or it could happen by just having a bonfire?

i have 200 hours played, never got raided seriously. sometimes i get attacked by some dogs or boars because they spawn near my base. the one thing what happens early is that one of your follower is kidnapped by barbarians and you have 30mins to clear the barracks and get your slave back. this happens if you have a companion gathering more than 30m away from your bonfire and he has bad gear and no weapons. always give bandages to your companions as well they will use it

I had my own server and had been invaded lost a new toon that had great stats which really sucked she was sacrificed before I could figure out where she was taken I still haven't found any toons even close to her stats like fool when I first found her I left her alone in a new area where I planed t0 get more decent stats toons to add in to stat it up. I learned my lesson one big thing is never go anywhere alone when you are close to an area leave your double and place your campfire in case something bad happens I learned that earlier but what I never learned until mid late game was that I should be using other characters and not my main so over half my game play was wasted lol I am starting new probably today and and am going to make a camp probably outskirts rain forest more towards the wetlands . during my last play through I also never really had a main base even when I did most things killed the main boss I still didn't have a main base because I couldn't find a decent location that would have everything I needed . also I played with the simplest settings and still had difficulties but this new playthrough I am going to play normal . yes lamas carrying much more there turning radius is horrendous and also I kept getting all my rides killed Because of fall damage even just a few feet with a 3/4 max load or half heavy load can kill your ride so many boxes I had to make because of this and then running around trying to find a new ride so that I could get everything back to the closest base area to store
