i think there are mutliple factors need to be considered in situations like this. Ye for last few years there is a certain game decline in terms of gameplay and quality. Everyone used to consider old Seasons better and you could actually feel the impact a new season had in the game. Lets say the swich from s2 to s3 or to s5. Huge landmarks. Every season started feeling the same, mby a bit worst. New gods were stronger and noob friendlier, also not rly that interesting. There is a reason you ask someone whats his favourite god and they ll probably drop early season gods like thor, ra , ullr, anhur, ymir etc. No one would rly say omg i need to play Sutr or manticore and charivdys or whatever the names are. So this thing brought an overall decline in everyone which i get. 2nd thing i would say age that can affect in 2 ways. The audience someone can grow early will get older and in combination with the smite situation they ll probably drop everything about smite. The 2nd way is how age affects the creator, its different watching a 17year old dude or a 35year old dude. Both in terms of skill and content, you can get burned out, bored doin the same thing with low results in views terms for years and put less effort or have your effort go unrecognised and that messes you up. Also content wise you ll talk about different stuff have a different attitude than a younger more carefree age. Its different playing for fun and making money on the side than playing to bring food to the table. Stakes go higher. The moment you reach a peak something weird happens, your voice matters, you have a community no matter how large, since we cant talk about millions in smite. This gets in your head and you develop a sense of higher value, the transition can be spotted not instantly but gradualy even if the audience doesnt get it they do feel like something is off till they see an extreme instance and they realize whats happening. Some random community drama here and there shows up polarizing people, after hours of content you might slip off a few times, start doin youtube apology videos then doing the same things a few months later etc, cause you really cant change your core self and the sense of higher position you build up in ur mind in a moment. Numbers drop, panic happens, you need to eat. Need click baity tiltes and thumbnails to bring people back. Mby a hit strikes here and there but the next day its all the same. Whats wrong? Is it youtube to blame, is it the declining state of the game? or is it the persona that was built through the years? Definitely not getting younger and as good skillwise, definitely not getting as carefree and chill. Apology videos, clickbaiting and doin "sam-like" troll challenges isnt cutting it off. Whats the answer? Wait for Smite 2? People will might want to learn how to play smite 2 and my ideas of the new game and new duel. Gods, Builds, Bans, game strategies. It might invigorate the community and i ll start gridning hard to get new people who ll join and older ones who come back. Everyone is excited to lose their progression of years, frames and skins for the same game with better visuals. Lets hope on with new players and unbalanced lobbies and enjoy the smite 2 season 1!!!!
