I absolutely love this!!! And thank you for showing us how YOU create and sew. I've had so many people and seamstresses demand "pins every inch" but I just love to feel the fabric and let the machine do the work. It's art! You have to let it flow. And I can't tell you how many times pins have been the downfall of projects because machines hate them so much. Thank you so much for showing us your process and making it look easy. I've been fawning over your designs for years now. Hopefully one day I can buy one from you!

@@SomniaRomantica I love to draw my own designs and love to just fit fabric together until I'm happy with how it looks instead of following a pattern. Sometimes I rip out entire seams and start over because I'm not happy with how the fabric sits together. I definitely create my own difficulties, and have a very "raw" way of creating, but if it gets me the desired results, I don't see a problem with it. There's been a couple rushed projects for one time use pieces where I've left messy hems and just used basic straight seams 🤭 sacrilege, I know! But passion pieces take weeks sometimes, so I feel its justified. Lol. I feel like we can always improve, so don't worry about being "unprofessional" or "lacking" skill. You create amazing pieces and you have a great deal of talent! To be perfectly honest, lace scares me, so I absolutely adore ogling your work on Instagram. 😁

@@aninanimatedoll Ha, yes al of that is very recognizable ^^ Also, when something is for just a project, abslutely no problem with just using basic seams :D I recall that years ago all of the clothes of my personal wardrobe looked butchered on the inside, because "well I do not need to sell it, so why finish the inside" XD In any case, it feels just funny to film it and put it out there, as I have been on social media and selling pieces for a long time, but until now only showed the end result. Which looks quite organized, while my way of working is very organic ^^ But I agree, it is sort of just a different approach to sewing and for some people this just works better. I recall trying to work with patterns and pins when I was 16 and it drove me nuts. I quit that and only worked with my self made patterns and a way of working that suited me. Still I really wish to master some official skills and techniques as I know it will enrich my work quite a bit. In any case, nice to hear you work the same way ^^

I miss my serger so much! Thank you for letting us watch you. I make most of my own clothing and loving watching others to get tips and ideas on making some parts easier or more refined. I am not great at bodices and my waist bands can use some work. Thank you again! Wonderful work!

Thank you so much for your kind response, I am happy you enjoyed it! I work a bit unconventional, but still hope it can inspire or entertain others, so thank you for your positive feedback! I can imagine missing the serger, it's such a great addition to a sewing machine ^^ So nice to hear that you make most of your own clothing ^^

it's great idea and of course your work is amazing as always thank you for the video ❤ i always thought about trying dresses with just rolls as well when I start sewing dresses but something mixed style not vintage I kind of feel like it might be slightly cheaper than big fabric? i didn't calculate cost yet but they can be used in accessories and different ways too so won't be throwing high money for nothing anyway.

Here my epic late response :D It very much depends on the particular lace or fabric. Say, a fabric is 10 dollars/euro a yard/meter and 1.5 wide. In that case they will often be cheaper than lace on a roll, as even if it's only 1 dollar for say 6 inch (15 cm) wide lace, you will need about 12 strands to have the same surface (as you need to count extra for the overlap). But it does give you lots of lovely scalloped edges. For accessories they are also very nice, because of the finishing on both sides which can be used in many creative ways :)

@@SomniaRomantica don't worry, sometimes I come and go with replies I'm bad with social life :D yes for sure it would be best for detailed pieces otherwise it's cheaper to get fabric, I work with ribbons and lace rolls a lot for my accessories so I was thinking about using spare parts with maybe other cheap materials like foam to create dresses just till I am able to afford proper fabrics prices but I think there are cheap local markets for fabrics and scarps in my country I will check them out soon :)
