Hijacking comment commence: Hi Jack, the first time you got to the End, just bring a pickaxe and a bunch of blocks, nothing else. It might spawn you on a platform floating over the void or on the edge, if you fall you lose all your items. Make a safe path first, jump of the edge, and then come back fully equipped.

- *Jack, if you can jump into the villager's pen easily, so can a zombie.* Use a trapdoor or a ladder to access him instead of a block. - Your natural mob spawner is not efficient right now because you need to light up all the caves in the area. If you light everything up, they will only spawn in your grinder. Place upside down half slabs at the bottom of your stone tube so creepers won't blow up on you. Since the creepers in your grinder are at half a heart, it's really easy for you to farm music discs by having skeletons shoot them. - Use your fortune III pick to mine diamonds and other ores you want more of, you get more items per ore. Doesn't work on iron or gold ore though, because those ores just drop as themselves. - COMBINE ITEMS on the grindstone. Stop throwing away all those bows, when you can combine them for a full bow.

Jack, spiders are 2x2. So they will get stuck in the water or the tube, and might not even fit through the trapdoors. They could also limit the amount of mobs that can spawn which will reduce the efficiency of the farm. There are 2 ways to fix this: The easy way: just place a single block in an efficient pattern so that there isnt any 2x2 blocks for spiders to spawn. The problem with that is that you wont get spider loot, but atleast they wont clog the system. If you want spider loot (string and spider eyes) you could try: The hard way: you make it bigger so the water and vertical tube is 3 blocks wide. This will take a while... so I dont really recommend it unless you want a lot of string and spider eyes. You should also place slabs on the hoppers, so the exp cant get stuck in the little dips, and creepers wont be able to see you. The hoppers can still work. (PS: mobs wont spawn if you are far away from the farm. I think the diameter is 128 blocks, so 64 blocks in all directions, for where mobs can spawn. They also wont spawn directly next to you, so dont afk directly above the farm, but its fine standing at the bottom) (Also, place block with a button on it, that will power a powered rail, on each end of the rail, so you dont get stuck in the minecart. And make the roof 3 blocks high)

Mr. Jack/Sean, a few basic tips to help with your spawner: 1) Every spot in the entire "chunk" (16x16x 256 high space) where a mob can spawn takes efficiency away from your spawner because mobs may spawn in those other places instead. This includes underground caves and any little open pocket big enough for a mob to spawn. Either light up every cave and pocket in the entire chunk or build your spawner over deep ocean as high as possible so that the spawner is the only place they have to spawn. This can dramatically increase the spawn rate. You do have a big ocean right next to your base =) 2) Although mobs can spawn anywhere between 24 blocks and 128 blocks away from you, beyond 32 blocks they won't walk around....meaning they won't wander into the water channels and fall down. You will need to stay relatively near your spawner for them to start falling. Also, mobs despawn at 128 blocks away from you. 3) Spiders can still fall down the chute but they will crawl slowly back up the chute if you don't kill them immediately. 4) You're getting Endermen in your base now because they are spawning in your spawner but then teleporting away from the water canals. 5) As you may have noticed, having your chests right next to the spawner platform is not a good idea. Creepers can sometimes explode and destroy them....even when you are being careful. Move them 4 or 5 blocks away for safety. 6) Hoppers are only for spawners that auto-kill large numbers of mobs. Your spawner is an experience farm which requires you to be there and kill things and pick up the loot yourself, so the hoppers are useless. Instead, use 4 obsidian blocks and half slabs for the platform. These will absorb most blast damage. Have an emergency chest of spare blocks nearby in case of a creeper accident. 7) Use glass blocks on the bottom couple rows of the chute. This way you can see what is going on inside the chute but the mobs can't see you through the glass. Just don't put glass too far up or light will get into the spawner chamber. 8) Its best to use a sword instead of an axe because a sword can sweep across and kill most of the mobs at once. This is especially useful once you're getting large crowds in there. 9) Once you start getting good spawn rates you will likely want an enchanting station near the spawner for all your enchanting needs. Just not too close =P I hope these tips help! I'm really enjoying your Minecraft series! =)

Sean PLEASE don't be stingy with your torches and light everything up better, both the surface and caves. It will improve the efficiency of your mob farm... and will protect your crops from creepers. Speaking of mobfarm, you can light up it's roof to maximize the spawncount, and place carpets in a diagonal pattern on the inside in order to prevent spiders from spawning in it and therefore taking up the mobcount. And place slabs on the lowest stonebricks to reduce the hole size so that the mobs (primarily creepers) won't see you when you get near but you can still hit them. Remember that if you don't have enough torches, you can farm trees for charcoal and sticks off camera. Yes, it's time consuming, and yes, seeing a shitton of torches ain't that pretty, but I think you'd prefer not having too much problems on your nerves over having the prettiest landscape of all.
