I Made a Snow Cave For My Dogs All Week! Cozy Husky Igloo

We've never seen so much snow in our lives! Our dogs are incredibly happy to play in the pure soft snow. And of course, snow is a wonderful building material. But we only had enough to build a snow cave for dogs. our huskies like to play hide and seek with each other. And of course dogs like quiet nooks. so we spent a whole week building a snow igloo for dogs.

where I live, snow plows usually come in the winter, and they make huge piles of snow. I have a tradition there, to make at least one snow cave where the whole of me can fit.

It is so wonderful to see huskies in their natural environment where they are supposed to be. I live in Australia, one of the hottest places on the planet. I have been dog groomer and vet nurse for nearly 3 decades and we have so many breeds including huskies that are just not suited for this climate. To watch your babies playing in the snow, warms my heart ❤

it'd be great to see an igloo with a short tunnel entrance. the igloo large enough to hold 3 sleeping dogs and one or two sleeping adults. so, you'd want to have enough space for dog baskets and two sleeping bags ✨

Building an igloo for the huskies! What a wonderful thing to do! And they clearly appreciate it! Amazing how cozy it looks when lit up! Loved watching the huskies playing in the snow around the igloo while it was being built & then enjoying sitting in it after it was completed!

An easier way to do this would probably be to get a big cardboard box, cut slits up the sides (along the edges), and place it upside-down in a cleared area. Then pack snow on top of and around it on three sides. Then remove the box by collapsing it along the slits. A lot less snow you'll have to shovel, and it leads to a nice box-shape inside!

It proves they are young at heart. Calves, lambs, colts, goat kids, fawns and people kids enjoy playing king of the hill. And often you see cows, ewes, deer and grownups joining in. It’s universal. Loved the snow cave and the effort you made for them. I have had to shovel snow that has melted and refrozen. It is hard work.

Now, I live in Southern Colorado and...we haven't seen any snow for months now. Thankfully, our mountains have lots of snow for the people who like to ski. Great job on the snow fort!
