Okay, those shield bubbles came out extraordinarily well. With the light reflecting off them they're pretty much perfect for the job.
@shanerountree36236 ай бұрын
A thought just came to me for lighting the bubbles. Have a blaster bolt actually impacting the shield and at the point of impact hide an surface mount UV LED to illuminate the shield at that point. That should have the effect of the shield glow around the blaster impact (as if the shield were taking damage there) and let you illuminate it without having to have an external source above.

According to Wookiepedia, the planet looks similar to Pasaana. Which we only saw once, in The Rise Of Skywalker, but we could assume the clones got there once or twice.
@thevoiceinyourhead975 ай бұрын
@@caseyynelmss Since we know that Skywalker was on Ryloth and with that the 501st, it would make more sense to assume the planet is Ryloth based on its "deserty" apperance which was seen multiple times in the Clone Wars.

The 3d printed explosion really adds to the feel of all the clone war series being animated in various styles - it may just be me, but when I think of the clones, I think about all the different appearances they made in the animated series' even if they first appeared in the live action. And those shields look so good! You always nail the right amount of color and washes and everything in between, I'm terrible at colors. Great work boylei!

One trick for masking, that find works. After putting down your masking tape, spray over a light coat or two of sealer. This means when you go over it with your normal spray / paint after, none should be able to leak under the tape.

Loved it! The lack of a smoke trail is not a bad thing since I doubt the clone troopers use smoke-emitting rockets. It could even be that he never got the chance to fire and that the droids inside caused the explosion themselves in a funny way and everybody cheered on Roger who in confusion looks at the ammo inside of his unfired rocket launcher but doesn't say anything.

One of the parenting moments I have been looking forward to happened last week. My daughter is in 4th grade and they are studying habitats. They got to pick a habitat and make a diorama. She chose The Boreal Forest (we live in Canada). I was able to help her out making a bunch of cool coniferous trees using, wire, jute fibre and a drill. I feel like I learned that from you but if not I’m sure you linked to someone else’s channel who had a tutorial. Thank you. We spray painted them black and she added some green shades and they looked great.

If you want to do bubble shields you could look into clear plastic christmas ornaments. They're relatively cheap and easy to cut. Another option would be round silicone molds. You just have to use a fast resin, poor it in, swirl it around and dump out the excess. Just make sure to keep moving the mold around until it's all cured. The same technique is used to make movie monster masks, body parts and the like.
